Skyline’s “Throwback 30” Set For Sunday May 7th
3 min read(Guysville, Ohio) With the current forecast calling for a significant rainfall on the originally scheduled Friday night show, the Skyline Speedway will now host the much anticipated $2,010 to win “Throwback 30” AMRA Late Model special on Sunday April 7th. The event which will coincide with an afternoon of racing honoring past Skyline legends including Ronnie Bond, Mike Balzano, Steve Shaver, Bernie Triplet, Bob Adams Jr and more, is sure to be a fan favorite and give all on hand an exciting and memorable afternoon of racing!
The Sunday afternoon of racing is sure to give fans plenty of excitement as the $2,010 to win show will also serve as the final Jim Dunn Memorial Qualifier which will award one driver an entry spot in the $10,000 to win, $500 to start special at the Midway Speedway in June. Along with a $100 Fast Qualifier (Mike Martin Sponsored) and $200 Dash (Adrenaline Performance Parts) bonuses, the $2,010 and $210 to start show is sure to draw a field of Late Model favorites from across the region. If this Sunday’s feature race is anything as exciting as last Friday’s feature that saw Jeremy Berwanger narrowly edge out Tyler Carpenter on the final lap for the win, fans are sure to be in for a real show!

Tyler Carpenter – Will drive Steve Shaver tribute car
Andy Bond – WIll drive Ronnie Bond tribute car
Ronnie Mayle – Will drive a Bernie Triplet tribute car
Bob Adams Jr will be on hand with a #A55 Late Model to turn some laps
Plus a few more surprises!
The Modified class has produced it’s share of excitement thus far in 2017 and it’s sure to do the same again this Sunday, as the class will feature a $1,000, $150 to start special. While the racing has been intense in the Modifieds, Travis Dickson has led the pack scoring 3 wins to kick off 2017 but Dickson is sure to have his work cut out for him as an excellent field is expected to challenge him as he looks for win #4.
Also racing this Sunday will be the AMRA Sport Mods and 4-Cylinders which are expected to produce some more quality racing. Both divisions have seen their share of action and solid car counts are expected as James Dennis looks for win #4 on the season and Josh Ayers looks to defend his win following his late race triumph on April 28th.
For many race fans, the afternoon will be highlighted by more than the racing action itself, as the track will hold a special ceremony commemorating the cars to their honored drivers and allow fans to hear from the men who have helped make Skyline so special over the years. With the untimely passing of Ronnie Bond this past Sunday, the afternoon is sure to be emotional for the Bond family and the Skyline Speedway asks for your support as Ronnie’s son Andy will look to pilot his father’s famous #10 throughout the afternoon.
Gates are set to open for Sunday’s show at 1 PM, with a special pre-race ceremony taking place at 3:30 and Hot Laps tentatively set for 4 – 4:15 PM.
