Mike Balzano To Be Honored At “Throwback 30” Late Model Special

(Guysville, Ohio) Thanks to an overwhelming showing of support through an online fan vote, in addition to his strong ties and successful career at the speedway, Skyline Speedway management is proud to announce that Mike Balzano will be the 3rd honored driver as apart of the “Throwback 30” AMRA Late Model special set for May 5th.

Balzano, will join popular longtime competitor Steve Shaver as well as area racing legend Ronnie Bond , to make up the three past superstars of the Skyline Speedway’s past to be honored as apart of the throwback themed Late Model special on May 5th. The event which will be highlighted by a $2,000 to win Late Model special dubbed the “Throwback 30”, with also see select competitors compete with the throwback themed cars and give fans plenty of excitement and activities on and off the track!

The name Balzano is as closely associated with Skyline as any other, and to have Mike Balzano be honored as apart of this inaugural event is only fitting. While Balzano’s career would lead him to countless feature wins, 2 STARS Late Model Series titles along with success within some of the sports most notable ranks, many area race fans will remember the success that Mike Balzano experienced on the red clay at the Skyline Speedway as the “floodwall flyer” became a staple at the Skyline Speedway with his familiar #E1 Late Model, especially when the big money was on the line.

The Skyline Speedway is proud to include Mike Balzano as apart of this unique event. The race which will take place on Friday May 5th, is sure to be a hit with fans of all ages, as promoter Steve Curtis and staff hope to connect the speedway’s long and storied past to the the racing world as we know it today.
