4 min readCHILLICOTHE, Ohio (January 18, 2017) – The third edition of Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week presented by Octane Race Products will hit headlines in less than seven months, showcasing top-tier super late model talent from all across the Buckeye State for eight days of competition. Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week presented by Octane Race Products will feature eight programs in ten days, awarding an overall winner’s share equaling that of $27,000, as well as a championship point fund boasting a five-digit payout of nearly $13,000.
The 2017 Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week presented by Octane Race Products champion will receive $3,000, also joining the ranks of 2015 champion Matt Westfall and 2016 champion Rod Conley.
“I can’t say enough about the tracks and organizations who helped put this schedule together in the amount of time that it took. It takes a lot of cooperation and a lot of work to schedule something like this, but I’m sure it will be well worth it in the end” Brad McCown said, promoter of Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week. “Octane Race Products stepped up to play a big part once again in 2017. Mix their support in with that of our contingency sponsors and point fund sponsor, DirtonDirt.com, and you have something really special. I’m confident that this will be a record breaking year – not only with entries, but also with fans. It’s going to be an exciting eight days.”
Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week presented by Octane Race Products will launch officially on Thursday, July 20, with a visit to the Hilltop Speedway near Millersburg, Ohio. Action will continue for the next three evenings with visits to Muskingum County Speedway near Zanesville, Ohio (July 21); Wayne County Speedway in Orrville, Ohio (July 22); and Midway Speedway near Crooksville, Ohio (July 23).

All events will award a minimum of $3,000.
In addition to the near-$13,000 point fund on behalf of DirtonDirt.com, multiple contingency prize packages will also be awarded at the conclusion of Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week, including a $2,000 voucher toward a brand new Kryptonite Racecars chassis – the “Official Chassis Provider of Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week.”

“This is quickly molding into a major event in the super late model world. Ohio has some of the most competitive late model competition in the country, and we are proud to support those racers and their efforts,” McCown said. “I’m anxious to see who will join our Ohio regulars during the eight-race schedule. Our fans are in for a real treat.”
The open wheel modifieds will co-headline super late model competition during seven of the eight scheduled events of Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week presented by Octane Race Products, racing for a minimum of $1,000-to-win and $150-to-start.
“We are happy to welcome the open wheel modifieds for most of Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week. They will join us during every stop except Wayne County Speedway,” said McCown. “Their competitiveness will only guarantee extra action for all of our fans. Details for the modifieds will be ironed out during the next few weeks. Our new website is being constructed, so I suggest everyone stay tuned for further information.”
