$3,000 To Win “West Virginia Dirt Cup” Up Next At Princeton
2 min readThe 3rd Annual West Virginia Dirt Cup presented by Ramey Auto Group is storming every closer to Princeton Speedway as it rolls into action this Saturday August 27th for the Super Late Models. This is event is becoming historically the biggest event Princeton Speedway host in just three short seasons of doing so. Every year we have brought over 20 Super Late Models on hand to do battle in this event. Each of the previous two years putting on some very exciting racing.
In the Inaugural West Virginia Dirt Cup we saw C. S. Fitzgerald of Raphine, VA put on a racing clinic. Fitzgerald started very deep in the field in 11th place. The driver who was making his first ever trip to the speedway battled his way slowly, but surely to the front of the pack. Where he would pick up the win in this historic event for the speedway.
The 2nd Annual West Virginia Dirt Cup was exciting for other reasons as a huge pile up on the backstretch took out a big part of the field. After this we would still see an amazing race though between father and son Tim and Zack Dohm who plan to attend again this year. Tim was not even planning to run in the event, but Kenny Howell asked him to pilot his #21 machine. Tim and Zack battled many laps with Zack taking the lead for a while, but Tim would get back by him. Zack would then have a flat tire leaving the door open for his father Tim to be the champion of the 2nd Annual West Virginia Dirt Cup.
The 3rd Annual West Virginia Dirt Cup is setting up to be another huge event with more and more drivers committing to come and more sponsors coming on board. Currently we have sponsors for Longest Tow, Hard Charger, Fast Time, and Fast 6 Dash Winner! There is a lot of money on the line for this event paying $3,000 to win and $300 to start! What makes this event even more special is the fact that there is NO entry fee!
Also on the card supporting this huge Super Late Model event Saturday night will be the AMRA Open Wheel Modifieds, FASTRAK Pro Late Models, Street Stocks, Outlaw Minis, and Mini Wedges.
General admission will be $20 (kids 10 and under free) and the pits will be $35. Gates will open at 4 with racing at 7:30. On Saturday before the races at Ramey Auto Group Race Cars will be on display for your pleasure including Might Mouse himself, Robbie Scott! Do not be left sitting at home during this historic event!
