Jackson County Set To Return To Racing Action This Friday
2 min read(Jackson, Ohio) After facing multiple weather setbacks over the latter part of the summer, the Jackson County Speedway is set to return to racing action this coming Friday August 19th. The Brad McCown owned venue will return to it’s customary Friday nights and expects to also bring racing excitement back to the 3/8th mile oval as this Friday’s show will be headlined by the OSCS Sprint Cars plus racing in the popular AMRA Modified and AMRA Sport Mod divisions along with the tracks 305 Sprint Car and Enduro classes.
With the track returning to the AMRA family of tracks this season, the Jackson County Speedway has seen it’s share of racing excitement thus far in 2016. With the always exciting AMRA Modifieds competing at the track on a regular basis, names such as Nick Hoffman, Mark Dickson and most recently Eric Hatfield have all scored wins on the close quartered action track. With a relatively uneventful weekend of racing throughout the region, Friday’s show looks certain to once again draw another stout field of Modifieds plus a strong contingency of AMRA Sport Mods. With Jackson County being just 1 of 4 tracks to regularly host the AMRA Sport Mods as a regular competing division, the track has seen promising car counts for the young class while Jamey Adams has shown his dominance at the scoring multiple feature wins thus far in 2016 making him the winningest driver at Jackson County in the Sport Mods.
As previously noted, Friday’s show will be headlined by a $2,500 to win Ohio Sprint Car Series 410 Sprint Car event which will serve as apart of the OSCS North/South battle series. The OSCS Sprint Cars are sure to give fans plenty of excitement as they do battle on the 3/8th mile oval known for it’s intense racing and side by side action. While Sprint Cars have not competed at Jackson County regularly in recent seasons, they have made their way back to the oval this season with plenty of excitement as Sprint Car Hall of Famer Danny Smith has scored 2 feature wins with other favorites such as Ryan Broughton and Dallas Hewitt plus many more have done battle in their previous appearances. With Friday’s show being the opening event for a weekend double header for the OSCS Sprint Cars, which will them move to the Atomic Speedway on Saturday, a solid field of cars are expected to be on hand to do battle.
Friday’s event will kick off with gates opening at 5 PM and the evenings drivers slated for 7 PM. The evenings hot lap session will take place at 7:30 and racing will then follow. Those seeking more information on the event should see jacksoncospeedway.com or Jackson County Speedway’s various social media sites. As always, AMRA officials encourage both fans and teams to check out this exciting event and wish all involved the best of luck!
