Conneaut, OH (August 3, 2016): Bob and Jackie Vogt were two of the most respected people to ever be involved with Raceway 7, Bob as a driver and Jackie as a score-keeper. Both devoted years of service to the track, earning the praise of everyone for their contributions. Bob passed away in December, 2003 after a battle with cancer and Jackie followed him in June of 2015. Both are missed by drivers, crews, staff, and fans of Raceway 7 and they will be remembered with a 25-lap memorial event for the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mods this Friday sponsored by Cashen Redi Mix. There will be NO increase in ticket pricing for this very special event.

The Bob & Jackie Vogt Memorial will be a 25-lap feature lined up by the results of an evening of qualifying events starting with a pill daw to determine groups for qualifying and heat races. Heat race lineups will be by the time trial results for each group. After the heats, two “dashes”, the first for the top two finishers of each heat, then a second dash for third and fourth place finishers of each heat. The results of the first dash will determine the front starters of the feature while the results of the second dash will line up after the front group on the starting grid. The winner of the biggest race of the season will pocket $1000. Heat and dash winners will each receive $100 each, made possible by sponsors Jeff Tregler Race Engines, Jason Ore Racing Engines, Johnson’s Gearing, Clinger Built E-Mods, Watson Auto Body, AMSOIL representatives Gary and Bonnie Neubauer, and Daniel’s Speed Supply. Dash finishers from second on back will receive $50 from Raceway 7 as well.

Joel Watson, with seven feature wins of the eleven run in 2016, would seem to be the odds-on favorite to win the event that was decided last summer by 0.001 at the checkers. Percy McDonald, out of competition this season due to a work-related injury, defeated Dan Davies in that race to the finish by the narrowest of margins. Mike Potosky, twice a winner this season, would also be expected to be near the front at the end of 25 laps. Mike Kinney and Dennis Lunger also have regular feature race wins this season with Lunger’s being his first in the division and coming July 22. Watson leads the points chase by a wide 103-point margin over Lunger with Troy Johnson, Josh McDonald, and Dan McDonald filling out the top five.

All other divisions will be in action with Lunger leading Darrell Bossard by a mere eight points in the Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Model championship and Rob Bates holding a large 125-point edge over defending champion Shawn Fawcett in Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stock standings. Steve Haefke holds a slim fifteen point advantage over former champion Rick Prosser in the Bonnell’s Auto Sales Economod standings while Jason Easler has dominated the McDonald’s Sand & Gravel Mini Stocks, accumulating a 79 point lead over Hoyt Mihalak.

Weather permitting, gates open every Friday at 5:30 PM with pill draw cut off at 7 PM and racing at 7:30 PM. Admission is set for $10 for adults for this very special event, kids 7-14 are $5. Children 6 and under are free. Pit passes are $25. For more information please visit www.raceway7.com or call the track on race day after 12 noon at 440-594-2222.
