It’s Back To The STARS With The STARS Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week

A big shake-up in the Late Model world as the STARS Late Model Series has a new promoter. Edge Entertainment, who received the rights to use the STARS name from legendary promoter Carl Short, has come to an agreement to transfer those rights, with the approval of Carl Short, to Atomic Speedway Owner Brad McCown, effective immediately.

Edge Entertainment owner Cody Watson stated “I am happy to see Brad take over the STARS series, Brad will be good for the series and I hope he takes it to another level.” He goes on to state “I look forward to seeing the series grow and becoming a prominent regional series for our great talent of drivers in our area.”

Plans for next year are to have the series run shows within a four-hour radius of south central Ohio, with the hopes of running at tracks in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, West Virginia and Pennsylvania. The structure set up by Watson will continue through the 2016 season with a different structure being planned for 2017.

Brad has gotten right to work beefing up the current STARS schedule as the Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week will now fly under the STARS banner. The now, STARS Buckeye Late Model Dirt Week, will see 8 races in 10 days vying for a minimum $3,000 to win each night and an over $12,000-point fund.

Saturday July 16th – Elkins Raceway – $5,000 to win
Thursday July 21st – Dirt Week – Legendary Hilltop – $3,000 to win
Friday July 22nd – Dirt Week – Moler Raceway Park – $3,000 to win
Saturday July 23rd – Dirt Week – Wayne County Speedway – $4,000 to win
Sunday July 24th – Dirt Week – Millstream Speedway – $4,000 to win
Wednesday July 27th – Dirt Week – Atomic Speedway – $3,000 to win
Thursday July 28th – Dirt Week – Hilltop Speedway – $3,000 to win
Friday July 29th – Dirt Week – Brushcreek Motorsports Complex – $3,000 to win
Saturday July 30th – Dirt Week Finale – Atomic Speedway – $5,000 to win
Friday September 30th – Legendary Hilltop Speedway – $3,000 to win
Saturday October 1st – Atomic Speedway – $3,000 to win – STARS Championship Weekend
