(Peebles, OH) On a sunny Sunday afternoon, cars took to the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex in search of glory! Drivers battled the warm sunny conditions throughout the day and three drivers bested the rest. Fans witnessed UMP Modifieds, Sport Mods and Legend Cars work the 3/10 Mile Peebles, OH oval. UMP Modifieds were the first of the feature events to take the track that threw different conditions than typically seen at BMC.
Iron Station, NC’s Nick Stroupe won the UMP Modified heat race which would set him up for a pole starting position in the feature until the invert set him back on the start. Dave McWilliams jumped out early with the lead while Chris Shelton in the C4 battled alongside for the lead. It wasnt long, however until Stroupe’s number 45 Car was right back in the mix. Stroupe stuck his nose between both McWilliams and Shelton in turn four to make it a three wide battle for the lead. Stroupe finally cleared the two and left them to work second out on their own. Nick Stroupe drove his car straight to victory lane for the first time at BMC. Following him down was Pete Holt, Dave McWilliams, Travis Fleshman and Stanley Haddix who rounded out the top 5.
The Sport Mod feature event looked to be shaping up as an exact copy of the April 3rd event with Emily Jordan leading early and Mitchell Fields trying to chase her down, however this week, Danny Hamilton snuck his way up into the three way mix for the lead. Jordan’s leading wasnt easy going as she had continued charges from Hamilton and Fields who wanted to overtake her. Jordan fell back and lost the top spot momentarily but battled her way back late in the going to come out on top! Emily Jordan picked up her first win of the season with Danny Hamilton, Jimmy Spillman, Eric Wade and Braden Berry in the top 5.
The final race of the night was the Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Car Series. Like all the other races of the night, three drivers battled their way back and forth for the top spot. Josh Francis, Steve Duderstadt and Steven Partin were back and forth the entire race. Duderstadt and Francis started on the front row with Francis running out front early. Steven Partin worked his way up and used the bottom side to get by Francis and take the lead. Shortly after the lead swap, a motor failure took Josh Francis out of the event. This left the battle between Duderstadt and Partin. After racing resumed, Duderstadt worked his way back to the top spot with just 5 laps remaining. Partin continued to work on the 39 car in front of him and with 2 Laps left stole the lead back. When the white flag fell, an incident between the leaders set up one of the most unusual finishes with the top three fighting to get their cars righted and make it back to the checkered flag. Steve Duderstadt wound up on top with Tyler Scott, Steven Partin, Jacob Tolle and Josh Francis rounding out the top 5.
