AMRA STARS To Take Green Tomorrow Night At Tyler County

(Middlebourne, WV) The history laden Short Track Auto Racing Series aka as STARS will once again see the green flag, it’s first since the 2004 season. The ultra popular tour got it’s start back in 1984 which saw John Mason claim the inaugural crown thirty two years ago. Since eight different drivers have gone on to win the series’ twenty one prestigious titles including some of the best in the business. Now under the direction of a cooperative effort between EDGE Entertainment and the American Motor Racing Association the series breaths new life once more in 2016.
First on the series’ welcome back slate of events is a rare but uber cool Thursday Night show at the Tyler County Speedway in Middlebourne, WV. Tomorrow evening the Short Track Auto Racing Series will invade one of the countries most competitive quarter miles, The Bullring for a two thousand dollar top prize. Joined along side by an EDGE affiliate series, the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour the action will emphatically heat up what has been a frigid start to the racing season. Gates are scheduled to open at 4pm with racing action getting underway at 6:30pm. Tickets are priced at just $15 for general and $35 for pit admission. Kids 10& under are free in the general with 5& under free for the pits.
It was announced last fall of plans for AMRA to come on board to help reboot the Short Track Auto Racing Series and will continue with that plan as racing begins tomorrow night. Local AMRA & regional favorites have already thrown their helmets in the ring as contenders for the 2016 title including; Zack Dohm, Tyler Carpenter, Travis Brookover, Ricky Williams, Ronnie Mayle, Cody Rogers, and many others who tentatively plan to hit the road this summer with the STARS. Competing racers will be also earn valuable AMRA weekly points during the 2016 STARS schedule including tomorrow night at the opener. The AMRA weekly point fund stands at over $10,000 up for grabs this year, Carpenter comes in as the defending 2015 champion.
As the 2016 season begins race fans and teams can look forward to the AMRA STARS Late Models showcasing eleven scheduled races within the regional footprint of the AMRA. The regionally scaled events will boast a minimum $2,000 to win purse with events already on the schedule reaching as high as $5,000 to win. The series will act as a promotional alliance among AMRA member tracks while regional racers battle for the lucrative STARS championship crown and a point fund that currently sets at $4,400 dollars to be divided among it’s participants with the champion receiving a min. $1,500 dollars for their accomplishments.
The Tyler County Speedway is located in the scenic WV hills, just 4 miles south of Middlebourne, on State Route 18 at the Fairgrounds approximately an hour from Wheeling, Clarksburg & Parkersburg. Tyler County Speedway is considered by fans, drivers and industry insiders to be one of the raciest tracks in the nation and has been dubbed the Bullring with three and four wide racing action being the norm not the exception.
The quarter mile facility will also host the AMRA STARS Series on Saturday May 7th along side the UFO series at the $3,000 to win Topless 50 and on Saturday July 30th for the Bud Weigle Memorial.
