Atomic To Crown Season Champions Saturday
3 min readCHILLICOTHE, OHIO-This Saturday, September 19 “The Atomic Speedway” will host “Championship Night” at the historic speed plant. 2015 track champions will be crowned in the 410 Outlaw Pine Tree Towing and Recovery OVSCA Sprints, 803Fire.com AMRA Late Models, Precision Grading AMRA Modifieds, and C & M Racing Equipment Sport Mods.
Race fans get the opportunity to see the best of the best. The powerful 410 sprint cars have been putting on spectacular shows all season long, including several last lap passes for the win. The last time out Cole Duncan made a daring last lap pass to claim the win over Indiana driver Brandon Wimmer. See the fast action, the spills, and the thrills all at Atomic Speedway.
Saturday’s point’s championship comes down to combatants Kory Crabtree who has a 61 point lead over Ryan Broughton.
The fastest stock cars on dirt will also be on hand as the AMRA late models battle for their top prize. Last week 34 late models filled the pits and Saturday a full house is expected once again in hopes of someone bringing home the 2015 crown. Wheelersburg’s Rod Conley has a narrow lead over 2014 track champion Greggie Oliver.
Oliver, who does double-duty in a modified, has all but wrapped up the 2015 crown with a powerful start and consistent finish to 2015. Never-the-less, a hungry field of competitors are expected to be on had in search of Saturday’s nice pay day. Son-in-law and Father-in-law will duke it out in the sport mods where Jason Cottrill, Bob Crace’s son-in-law hopes to secure his first crown over the veteran multi-time champion Crace. Only 24 points separate the duo so the crown is up for grabs.
Gates open at 4 p.m., pit gates at 2 p.m. and warm-ups at 6 p.m. General admission is just $12 and kids 12-and-under are free.
Pit admission is $30 and 12-and-under pit admission is $15. These prices are for only those folks entering the pit area.
The UNOH All-Star Circuit of Champions sprint cars will be coming to town for a date added to the original schedule September 26. The $5,000 to win show will see AMRA Modifieds and Sport Mods also on the racing card for increased winner’s pay-off’s–$1,500 in the Mods and $1,000 in the Sport Mods.
Atomic Speedway is excited to announce the Ohio Kart Championships to be held at Atomic Speedway on the big track Friday and Saturday, October 8-9th !!! The Money Races Dash, B-main, and Feature will be in the 350lb & 400lb classes on Saturday with Qualifying and Heats on Friday, October 9. Those classes along with the other classes will also have a full regular show each day.
