“The Outlaw” Picks up $1,000 to Win

Fans filled the stands at Hilltop Speedway, for Saturday night’s $1,000 to win for the Finish Line Auto Body Modifieds.
First out for the night was the Finish Line Auto Body modifieds. Setting fast time was Craig Wolford with a 15.964 placing him in the dash. Picking up heat race wins was “The Logger” Kevin Morehouse and Rex Frohnapfel Jr. with “The Outlaw” Jesse Wisecarver taking the dash. In the last chance race it was Jimmy Smith with the win. With Wisecarver on point, he brought the field to the green. Jumping out front early, Wisecarver would be challenged by “The Stalker” Jon Sluka who was in a close second. As the two came up on lap traffic, Sluka would take the lead. However, unable to pull away, it was “The Outlaw” who would take back over the top spot and claim the $1,000 win. Rounding out a close running top five was Rory Reed, Chris Basich, and Kevin Morehouse.
Next to hit the track was the Holmes Tire late models with a field of 19. Yet again setting fast time for the third week in a row was Kyle Moore with a 14.521. Heat race winners were Rick Bond and Chriss Keller with Ty Myers picking up the dash. Bringing the field to the start, it was Myers and JR Gentry on the front row, with the green out, it was Gentry who would take the lead over the field. Nevertheless, Myers was not going to back down easy, battling Gentry lap after lap, going side by side for the lead. However, he would run out of laps as Gentry would take the lead and pick up his sixth feature win at Hilltop. Third was Greg Oakes, fourth Doug Drown, and fifth Rick Bond.
The Bugs-R-Gone trucks rolled out next with a field of ten. Picking up the heat race win was Travis Winterringer, placing him on the pole of the night’s feature event. As the green dropped, it was Rolly Heyder who would jump out front leading every lap, green checkered, picking up yet another feature win so far this season. Finishing second was Travis Winterringer, third was Josey Lillibridge, fourth Jerry Gardner, and fifth was Tom Garlick.
The modlite division had a field of 13 with Doug Drown and Tracy Fritter each picking up a heat race win and setting the front row for the night’s feature event. With the green out, it was a battle between Drown and Fritter for the lead. As the two would go back and forth, lap after lap, trouble for Fritter would send him to the tail. With the green back out, Drown was able to go on to pick up the win followed by Nick Crider, Ryan Baker, Joe Burkhead and Kacy Campbell.
Up next were the Winning Edge Auto Body mini stocks, where Kevin Markey, John Maki, Jason St. John and Chris Preibe would all pick up heat race wins. Picking up the last chance race was Trae Shonauer. With the field set, the green was out. Making his way through the field was Jason St. John who would work his way to the lead, where he would remain picking up his first win of the 2015 season. Rounding out the top five was Kevin Markey, Chris Priebe, Colton St. John and Gary Hensel Jr
Last out for the night was the Holmes Pest Control street stocks with a field 12. Fast qualifier for the night was Mike Lonas with a 16.450 placing him in the dash which he would go on to win. Picking up the heat race win was Richard Grogg. With the feature event underway, it was Mike Lonas who would jump out front going on to pick up the win for the third week in a row. With a close battle for second, it was David Potts who would edge out over Bob Chilcote, fourth went to AJ Cannnon and fifth to Richard Grogg.
