Speedweek Shows & RUSH Late Models Highlight Wayne County Schedule

Promoters Jason and Kristin Flory have been burning the midnight oil putting together the 50th full season of racing schedule for Wayne County Speedway that will include some familiar looks and some new faces to the schedule. First will be two Saturday’s of Test and Tune this season as April 4th and 11th will be practice sessions for all class’ of cars with the track being open from 11 am until 4 pm both Saturday’s. The season will get off to a big start on Saturday, April 18th with the ‘New” UNOH All Star Sprints, that is now owned by NASCAR’S Tony Stewart, with a $5,000 to win feature. Also on the racing card for the evening will be the new class of Rush Crate Late Models and the Super Stocks. The next two Saturday’s, April 25th and May 2nd, will be regular shows and those will have the 410 Sprints, Super Late Models, Crate Late Models, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Flat Track Go Carts and Mini Wedges. Returning for the second season, the Attica Raceway Park/ Wayne County Speedway Super Late Model Challenge will return on Saturday, May 9th for the 1st of four races at WCS. The Crate Late Models will be allowed to run in this series with bonus money up for the highest finishing Crate Late Models. All other regular class’ will be in action also. It will be a Sprint Car Spectacular on Saturday May 16th with the regular 410 Sprints and the BOSS Wingless Sprints making the first of two appearances at WCS in 2015. The Crate Late Models and the Super Stocks will be racing also. Mini Stocks will take the spotlight on May 23rd with an increase in their purse as all regular class’ take to the 3/8 mile oval. The UNOH All Star Sprints along with the Crate Late Models and Super Stocks are on tap for Saturday, May 30th. The month of June will start with the 1st ever WCS USA East Championship Pulling Series that will include the Big Rigs Modified Semi Trucks along with the Tractor and Trucks as the oval track takes the night off on the 6th. Another 1st will take place on June 13th as the 1st Buckeye Late Model Speedweek rolls into WCS for the Don Gross Memorial with $4,000 going to the winner with the Super Stocks and Mini Stocks also performing. No racing on Saturday, June 20th as the track gets ready for the UNOH All Stars Sprints to come in on Monday, June 22nd for the Annual Speedweek show and the Duffy Smith Memorial race. Adding to the list of firsts will be the Sweeney Rush Late Model Touring Series for the 1st of their three visits this season that night. No racing again on Saturday, June 27th although watch the website for a chance of Flat Track Go Carts on both Saturdays before and after the Sprint Speedweek show. Fourth of July will see the Sweeney Rush Late Model Touring Series back in town and the rowdy Renegade of Dirt Modifieds making their first stop at WCS with the Super Stocks and Mini Stocks on hand. Mid Season Championships for all the regular class’ will take place on Saturday, July 11th. Round two of the Attica/WCS Super Late Model Challenge headlines the Saturday, July 18th show as everyone but the 410 Sprints ( Kings Royal) will race that night. Two weeks of regular action is on tap for Saturday July 25th and August 1st for all class’. August 8th will be the third of the Attica/ WCS Super Late Model Challenge with the BOSS Sprints taking on WCS for the second time this season. Also providing racing action will be the Super Stocks and Mini Stocks. Another Mini Stock Special will take place on August 15th with the full group of regulars in action. A double weekend of action is set for Friday and Saturday August 21st and 22nd as the Friday night show will feature the Renegades of Dirt Modifieds in TRIPLE Feature action with the Crate Late Models, Mini Stocks and Mod Lights providing the racing action. The following evening will be coveted Harley Davidson race for the Renegades of Dirt Modifieds plus the last race of the Attica/ WCS Super Late Model Challenge and the 410 Sprints and Super Stocks racing for points. Season Championships for everyone will take place on Saturday, August 29th. The UNOH All Star Sprints, the Sweeney Rush Late Model Touring Series and the Super Stock take to the track on Sunday, September 6th. The last racing action for WCS will be the 3rd Annual Dirt Blow Out with open practice, a BBQ and DJ on Friday September 25th with all the race action on Saturday, September 26th. Full details on what class’ of cars and times for this event will come at a later date.
This is the schedule for the 2015 season at Wayne County Speedway but it could change, races could be added or cancelled. Also this season, races will have a time limit on them to help move the show along and that will allow our fans to get home at a respectable time.
