Conneaut, OH (August 1, 2014): Muggy, warm weather greeted fans and competitors as they entered the gates at Raceway 7 for the annual Twin State Night. Some of the wildest racing ever entertained them all night.

When the final checkered flag fell it was Ed Bolyard collecting his fourth Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks feature win of the season, Brad Cole got by points leader Dale Fraschetti on the final lap to collect his third feature win of the season, Dennis Lunger won his fourth of the season in one of the wildest finishes ever seen at the track. Joel Watson collected his fourth win of the season in his attempt to catch points leader Gary Eicher to extend his championship dominance. Derek Dellinger made his first appearance of the year in the Economod division and walked off with the win after a thrilling race with rookie Devin Henry that only ended when Henry experienced mechanical gremlins.

The Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks were first on the track for feature racing with Kenny Lamp and Ed Bolyard leading the way to Roger Osburn’s green. Bolyard, looking for his fourth feature win of the season, led lap one and through to the checkers. Mark Frontera came to second at lap three with Shaun Fawcett to third. At a lap four restart Fawcett and defending champion Chris Withers both got by Frontera at the drop of the green. At the next restart on lap eight, Fawcett was on the inside for the green and promptly dropped to third behind Withers. At the checkers if was Bolyard, Withers, Fawcett, Chris Hochschild, and Jimmy Kennerknecht.

Defending champion Brad Cole led the Specialty Products Mini Stocks to the green with Joe Keney to his right. Cole went right to the lead with Keney falling to the rear and 2012 champion Bud Sergeff coming to second. At three complete it was points leader Dale Fraschetti second from his sixth starting berth. Fraschetti took over at the front at lap seven but Cole stayed right with him, then in heavy traffic on the final lap both Cole and Sergeff got back by Fraschetti. At the checkers the top five were Cole, Sergeff, Fraschetti, Jason Easler, and Carlos Aponte.

Mike Mitchell and Billy Henry brought the twenty car Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models field to the green with Mitchell leading the way after one lap. Sixth starting Chad Wright came to third by the end of three laps with Henry challenging for the lead every turn. Last week’s winner Kyle Zimmerman came to fourth at lap six and was even with Wright for third at the end of nine laps. At halfway it was Mitchell showing the way with Henry second and a fast closing Zimmerman third. Two laps later Zimmerman was second but Mitchell started opening a lead, then losing it at four laps to go as Zimmerman got alongside at the flag then to the lead but disaster struck before the end of the lap when Zimmerman spun in turn four. At the flagman’s order Mitchell was sent to the rear for his part in the incident. Henry led Chad Wright and Dennis Lunger back to the green. Wright got by for the lead with two laps remaining then heading into turn four the leaders got together but not spinning, then got together again in turn one, sliding up the track and opening the door for Dennis Lunger grab the lead coming out of turn two on the final lap and on to his fourth feature win of the season. Both Wright and Henry were sent to the rear df the finishing order for rough driving. Second at the line was Matt Latta, then Dave Airgood, Breyton Santee, and Bob Pifer.

Percy McDonald and John Boardman led the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods to the green with yellow immediately shown and Boardman penalized two spots for jumping the start. At the restart four cars piled up in turn two. After green again flew seventh starting Joel Watson advanced to third by the end of two laps then to second a lap later and the lead by the end of six. After a restart at lap seven Gary Eicher came to third and then second when a restart was needed at the halfway point. Chuck Steinle Jr, Steve Dixon, and Ken Zimmer had a spirited three way battle for fourth with Steinle getting the spot after Dixon slapped the wall at lap fifteen. With two laps remaining Amanda Stiffler spun for the third time in the event setting up a two lap dash for the win. The single-file restart rule inside five laps allowed Eicher to retain the position after green but he could not mount a challenge on Watson, who went on to his fourth win of the season over Eicher, Percy McDonald, Kenny Zimmer, and Steve Dixon.

Derek Dellinger and Devin Henry brought the Zimmer Service Center Economods to the green with Dellinger taking the lead. After a restart at lap three the third place car once again came immediately to second but Derringer had a five car lengths lead at the end of five laps. Henry got back by Russ Kapalin for second but yellow flew before the end of the lap. Henry closed in on Dellinger’s lead and got alongside and to the lead but Rick Prosser, last week’s winner, spun in turn one, negating the pass. After a restart from lap twelve, Henry experienced mechanical ails and headed to the pit. At the finish Dellinger had the win over Russ Kapalin, Josh Ferry, Steve Burns, and Jodi Woodworth.
