UMP SummerNationals To Make 1st Appearance At Atomic Wednesday

For the first time ever the UMP Summer Nationals also known as “HellTour” will make a stop at the fabled high banks of the Atomic Speedway south of Chillicothe Ohio. The Late Models will be the premier class as they battle for the $5,000 to win first place money, also as part of the tour will be the UMP Modifieds as they battle for $1000 first place money. Street Stocks and Sport Mods will also be on the card. Also just confirmed by a phone call to track owner Brad McCown, NASCAR Star Kenny Wallace will be in competition in the Modified division and have his souvenir trailer on the midway and available to sign his book that is available at the track t-shirt shack. The SummerNationals is a very historic and grueling series that travels multiple states and has 33 races scheduled over a 6 week time frame. 3 time series champ and former winner of the Dirt Track World Championship winner Shannon Babb is the current point leader as the series heads into the final week of competition. Along with the touring racers a strong contingent of local and regional racers are expected to make it a greatnight of racing action. Pit Gate opens at @pm, General Admission gates at 4pm with Hot Laps at 6 followed by a full night of racing action. General admission for adults $22, Sr Citizen $20 and children under 12, $5. Pit passes Adult $35 children under 12, $20.
