Night #1 of DRC.net Double Shot At MRP A Night Of Firsts

In the $1500 to win Mt Orab Ford Late Model division it was a nice field of 15 late models going the 30 lap distance. In heat race action it was Chad Stapleton of Edinburgh, Indiana taking the win over Wheelersburg, Ohio’s Rod Conley while heat race #2 was Kevin Wagner of Wheelersburg taking the win over Flemingsburg,Ky’s Roger Ruark. In the Diamond Cut Lawn Care dash it was Stapleton over Wagner setting the lineup for the feature event. In the feature event Stapleton jumped to the lead with Wagner in pursuit. Great racing behind them as Greg Johnson was the man on the move as he had worked from tenth starting spot to fourth. Following a caution on lap 20 it was Stapleton still out front but two laps into the restart Wagner was able to drive under him and take over the top spot and claim his first ever win at MRP. Stapleton held on for second spot with Johnson, Conley, and Jeff Alsip rounding out the top five spots.
Fifteen UMP modifieds were on hand and in heat race action it was Verona Ky’s Josh Rice claiming the win in heat race #1 while Goshen,Ohio’s Dustin Webber claiming heat race #2. In the feature event it was all Kuzman Racing,Sunesis Construction, Bennett Excavating sponsored machine of Rice out front at the green flag. A short caution for John Baker who slowed down the front stretch and was hit by Mike Marischen. On the restart it was all Rice as he ran away to claim his first ever win at Moler Raceway Park. Dave McWilliams came home second with Adam Stricker, Doug Adkins, and Jimmy Lennox Jr rounding out the top five.
In the Diamond Cut Lawn Care Sport Mod division it was young Harrison Hall winning the heat race. In the feature event it was newcomer Derek Richmond taking the top spot on lap two of the feature and would proceed to go on and claim his first ever feature event. Andy Trout would come home second with Chris Shelton, Jerry Florence Jr, and Chris Shelton Sr. completing the top five.
In the DRC Crazy Compacts it was another fantastic show as Bubba Gibson and TJ Dalton would race side-by-side for the entire second half of the race. This week was different as Tony Reed, Willie Butler and Dillan Harris were also in the battle for the win. At the end of the fifteen laps it was Bubba Gibson once again out front and claiming yet another win in his Endurance Motorsports machine and becoming the nights first veteran to reach victory lane.. Dalton would come home second with Reed, Harris, and Garrek Canter completing the top five. Heat races were won by Butler and Gibson.
In the Chevette division it was Mike Clark and Jeff Watson claiming heat race wins while in the feature event it was Watson jumping out front and never looking back to claim his second feature win of the season . Rusty Yarger came home second with Clark, Kyle Tarvin, and Josh Davis completing the top five.
