Jamison, Brust, Partin And Anderson Take Brushcreek Kids Night
3 min read(Peebles, OH) On a beautiful day in southern Ohio last Saturday played host to Kids Night at the Brushcreek Motorsports Complex. Mt. Hope Bible Camp was the sponsor for the evening and hosted all the fun activities for the kids. The famous bottle toss took place, where kids try to land a bottle into the back of a speeding pickup truck. Austin Scott was the lone participant our of tons of entrants to sink the bottle and win $10. Several kids also took to the soaked banks of the speedway to race on foot for money during the Hawes Crawl. The racing action was exciting as well with a full show on the schedule for the evening.
In the Crazy Compact division Keith Anderson of Lucasville, OH and Jesse Taylor of Peebles, OH lead the field to the green flag after each got heat race wins. As the flag flew Taylor fell quickly while Anderson did just the opposite. Anderson pull a big lead on the rest of the field. Stacy Evans who started 4th was charging forward in his 71 car. Evans even went three wide to take the second spot but couldn’t chase down the leader, Keith Anderson. Following behind Anderson at the finish was Stacy Evans, Randy Johnson, Jesse Taylor and Tommy Stout.
The Hidden Gem Web Designs Sport Mods lined up second. Mike Brust won his heat race putting him on the pole of the feature event. Brust took off and never looked back however the race was not all uneventful. Mark Hall’s number 71 car erupted into flames due to a blown engine bringing out the red flag. Mike Brust’s engine also locked up coming across the line taking the checkered flag. The rest of the top 5 were Greg Litteral, Mark Hall, David Lunsford, and Danny Hamilton.
Dave Jamison stormed to an easy Modified win with Jason Bilyeu, Clark Vanhouten, Dakota Mayabb, and Glenn East rounding out the top 5.
The Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Cars rounded out the nights action with a wild feature event. Tom Partin started on the outside pole and lead the lane to the front at the drop of the green. The race was fairly calm until around 5 laps to go. As drivers following Tom Partin started to shuffle around Steven Partin began to pick his way up from the 4th spot. Steven reached second spot and made one last ditch effort to pass his dad Tom. Steven’s number 10 car slipped up on the bottom side and made contact with T. Partin. Tom continued on but Steven lost two spots to John Gutman and Derek Minshew. Tom Partin picked up his first win of the season followed by John Gutman, Derek Minshew, Steven Partin and Cole DeMint.
