WHEELERSBURG, OH-The Southern Ohio Speedway is set for action this Friday, June 6th for the Pickett Concrete Southern Showdown. The exciting racing card will feature OVSCA 410 Sprint Cars, a $1,500 to win WRS Late Model special, GCP Engines Sport Mods, Pure Stocks, and Enduros.

OVSCA 410 Sprint Car Preview
The first appearance of the 2014 season for the OVSCA 410 Sprint Cars was rained out back in May. The OVSCA is back for their second of three shows at the Southern Ohio Speedway this Friday, June 6th. 19 year old Kory Crabtree from West Jefferson, Ohio has won the past two OVSCA shows at SOS and will be looking for three wins in a row on Friday. Jim Nier, the all time winningest Sprint Car driver at SOS, will be looking to return to SOS victory lane. Nier won the first 410 Sprint Car show of the modern era back in 2011. Jimmy Stinson, the current track record holder, will be looking to take his first win at a track where his uncle Charlie Swartz scored many feature wins. One thing is for sure, it will be a great show on Friday with the fastest cars on dirt.

WRS Late Models Preview
Friday will be one of the biggest shows ever in the region for steel block Late Models, known at SOS as the Weekly Racing Series (WRS) Late Models. The WRS Late Model division has produced some great racing in the first two races of the season and should produce an excellent show in the $1,500 to win special. Michael Meyers is the points leader in the WRS Late Model division with a first and third place finish on the season and will no doubt be one of the drivers in contention for the big win on Friday. Evan Terry, in only his third ever race at SOS, held off Jamey Adams to take an exciting feature win back on Memorial Day weekend. Those drivers will be tough as well. With so much money on the line, it will also be interesting to see if any out of town cars come to try to take the big win.

GCP Engines Sport Mod Preview
Emily Jordan has been the story in the GCP Engines Sport Mod division this season as she has won two of the first three races. The class has been extremely competitive this season as Tony Whitt Jr., Danny Hamilton, Eric Dennison, and Tony Whitt Sr. have all been front runners. Whitt Jr. has one Sport Mod win on the year. One thing is for sure, it will be a great race at SOS on Friday in the Sport Mod class.

Pure Stock Preview
Last race saw the highest ever car count for the Pure Stock division with six cars. The racing action was great with defending track champion Barry Brisker taking the feature win. Brisker took the win while his biggest competitor, Lamar Murdock, took a wild ride in turn four as the car dug in and nearly flipped over. It will be fun to see if the car count keeps growing on Friday.

Enduro Preview
Robbie Matheny became another first time Enduro winner last race. The Enduros always put on a great show and will run a 10 minute endurance segment followed by a 10 lap shootout at the end of the night on Friday.
