I-77 To Open May 2, Moves To Friday Nights

RACINE, OHIO – I-77 Raceway Park Off the Fairplane exit of I-77 is back for another exciting year of racing, featuring AMRA Late Models and Octane AMRA Modifies. The I-77 staff pleased to announce the 2014 schedule, and the big move to Friday Nights. The season will kick off on Friday, May 2nd at 7:00pm with the Mike Sampson #7 Memorial Race featuring all classes that will consist of AMRA Late Models, AMRA Octane Modifieds, Semi-Lates (including Fastrak Crate Lates), Mod-Lites and Front Wheel Drive 4-Cylinders. Test and Tune will be April 26th.

Continued Improvements at I-77 Raceway Park are part of a huge make-over that has brought the operation to a glistening new height of glory. For a time I-77 had sat idle over different periods during the past decade. Today, I-77 is alive and well and ready to greet both old and new fans. The American Motor Racing Association (AMRA) is proud to be a part of this historic and exciting times.

Kenney Newhouse and team have put in endless hours of work expanding the pit area, adding new terraced seating, and erecting new buildings on the grounds at I-77. Additionally, tons of earth have been moved for easier access to the grounds along with a better view of the super-fast 3/8 mile oval.

Not only has the complexion of the place been taken to a new level, but the schedule has gone first-class as well. The coveted 46th annual Hillbilly 100, Carl Short’s crown gem, is coming back to West Virginia over the Labor Day Weekend. The I-77 team is proud to bring one of dirt’s biggest events to its fans once again.

The team at I-77 Raceway Park is excited to announce the return of the OVSCA Sprint Cars and the Lucas Oil Series Hillbilly 100 Crown Jewel Event for some of the best racing in the area. Along with these series we will host special events race for Late Models, Modifieds, and 4-Cylinders. For more great news I-77 Raceway Park has teamed up with Ohio Valley Speedway for several action packed weekends. When I-77 Raceway Park runs a special race on Friday night, Ohio Valley Speedway will run the following night with the same special race. Refer to both track schedules for those events at www.racei77.com and www.ohiovalleyspeedway.com I-77 Raceway Park is pleased to announce it has scheduled an Ultimate Super Late Model Series race on July 18th 2014!!

I-77 offers a number of enjoyable concessions, including chili cheese fries, chili, hot dogs, corn dogs, and hamburgers. At big races, vendors may be present to offer more options for fans.
