Hartford, OH March 19, 2014 Sharon Speedway is forced to postpone this Saturday’s (March 22) scheduled open practice and “Springduro 150” Enduro to Saturday, April 5 with a rain date of Sunday, April 6 due to the conditions of the track and parking areas. The new times for April 5 will be open practice from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. with the Enduro to follow.

(Note: Initially it was announced that April 12 would be the make-up, but that has since been changed to April 5 due to an Enduro at CNB Raceway Park in Clearfield, PA that many of the competitors would be participating in.)

“Today’s (Wednesday) rains took away any hope at getting in Saturday’s event,” explained GM Dave Willoughby. “Things were beginning to dry up and if it would have stayed dry through Saturday we may have had a shot, but with frost still in the ground and inclement weather the next couple days there’s just no way to be able to prepare the track. Cold weather is predicted through much of next week so we decided to just postpone the event until April 12.”

A total of 42 cars have pre-entered for the Enduro, which pays $1,000 to the winner, $500 for second, $400 for third, $300 for fourth, and $200 for fifth. New entries are still being accepted and will be on race day at the cost of $100. Registration forms are available on the website by going to SharonSpeedway.com, clicking on the Drivers tab followed by the Registration link. The starting line-up is also posted on the website.

Following the Enduro, the 2014 regular racing season will get underway on Saturday, April 19 at 7 p.m. featuring the Hovis Auto & Truck Supply DIRTcar Big-Block Modifieds, Barris Supply RUSH Late Models, Summit Racing Equipment Modifieds, Gibson Insurance Agency Stock Cars, HTMA/Precise Racing Products Econo Mods, and the Deforest Used Parts Mini Stocks.

Sharon Speedway is owned by the Blaney, Weller, and Kirila Families and is a 3/8-mile dirt track located on Custer-Orangeville Road in Hartford, Ohio near the intersection of Routes 7 & 305.
