WHEELERSBURG, OH-A very wet winter already making grounds in bad shape, on top of today’s heavy rains and forecast of snow and cold, cloudy weather conditions this week has forced Southern Ohio Speedway officials to postpone the 1st Annual Spring Thaw Enduro to Saturday, March 15th.

“We knew that the March 8th date was likely going to be dependent on how wet a winter it was”, stated SOS co-promoter T. J. Layne. “The grounds, particularly the pits and parking lots, were already in bad shape. If we could of had a relatively dry week this upcoming week we would of probably been ok. But with the heavy rains today and heavy snow in the forecast later today on top of cold, cloudy conditions forecasted for this week preventing drying, it just looks like there is no way we can run the event this Saturday. We know how hard a lot of teams thrash to get their cars ready for these Enduros, so we felt it was best to go ahead and cancel today instead of delaying the inevitable.”

Gates will open on March 15th at noon with hot laps starting the day’s action at 2:00 pm. The racing card will feature hot laps, Time Trial Challenge, Dash for Cash, Heat Races, and The Main Event for the Enduro cars. General admission is only $5 with pit passes $10. Enduro’s will have a $20 car entry fee.

“We also want to add that if for some reason weather would get us on March 15th, we will push the show back to do a doubleheader with the scheduled preseason Test N’ Tune on March 22nd”, Layne added. “We are very excited about this event and absolutely cannot wait to get cars on track. We are very hopeful about running the event on March 15th but race teams can rest assured that this event will be ran this spring even if this crazy weather continues for a few more weeks.”
