NAPA Wayne County Speedway 2014 Schedule Is Diversified

Five different racing sanctioning groups will invade NAPA Wayne County Speedway in 2014 as the UNOH AllStar Sprints will have three nights of action while the BOSS Sprints and the OVSCA (Ohio Valley Sprint Car Association) each will be in action twice this season. The Renegades of Dirt Modifieds return for two shows while the RUSH Crate Late Models will make their first appearance ever at the 3/8 mile dirt oval. The ground pounding Late Models will have four races at NAPA WCS that will be tied together with four race nights at Attica Raceway Park making up the Late Model Challenge Series.

A practice day is scheduled for Saturday, April 19th from 11 am to 3 pm for all class’ of cars with pit admission at $10 while grandstand admission will be free. The first night of the season will be on Saturday, April 26th with Fan Appreciation Night with $10 general admission and $1 hot dogs as the Sprints, Late Models, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks and Mini Wedges will start their points season. A new track in the infield will be built for the Mini Wedges for this year and hopefully will be ready, weather permitting for opening night. The first week end of the Attica/WCS Late Model Challenge Series will be on Saturday, May 3rd with a regular show for all other class’. It will also be Kid’s Night plus fans that bring a receipt from a NAPA WCS sponsor will get $2 off general admission.

The next two weeks the Sprints will be the headline attraction as the BOSS wingless Sprints will take to the track on Saturday, May 10th with a regular show for all other divisions which will also be Ladies Night with $2 of for all Ladies general admission. The OVSCA will come north for the first time the following Saturday as another regular night for all other class’ as it will be Wayne County School Students getting in for free plus Policemen, Firemen and EMS workers get half off admission with ID.

Round three of the Attica/WCS Late Model Challenge will take place on Saturday, May 24 on Boy Scout Night with a full program of racing on the docket that night also.

The first of three appearances for the UNOH All Star Sprints comes on Saturday, May 31st as the Late Models and the Super Stock will be on the racing card along with the Vintage Race Cars on display as the Mini Stocks and the Mini Wedges take the night off.

The month of June will start on the 7th with a Super Stock Special that will have them running double features with the second one starting inverted of the way they finished the first feature. A full program for all others class’ that night which will be Military Night with all Military Personnel getting in for half price with ID. Mid Seasaon Championships roll around the next week on Father’s Day Special as all Father’s will get $2 off general admission plus a Lowe’s Gift Card. It will also be the first Lowe’s Kid’s Clinic night

No racing on the 21st as we get ready for Monday’s UNOH All Star Sprint Speedweek show and the Duffy Smith Memorial race with the Late Models and the Super Stocks also in action. NAPA WCS will be idle on the July 28th in support of Speedweeks.

A two day show will celebrate the 4th of July Week end as the Renegades of Dirt Modifieds will roll in as they will run all their heats on Friday night and the last chance race and a $3000 to win feature on Saturday the fifth. They will run a All Star feature on Friday night as drivers will qualify for that race through achievements from the first half of their season. The Late Models will be competing in the Don Gross Memorial that week end also as they will run a 30 lap feature on Friday night and then a 45 lap $4000 to win feature on Saturday night. The total laps of both features adds up to 75 which was the car # Don always drove. The Super Stock, Mini Stocks and the Mini Wedges will be in action both nights as the Sprints take the week end off.

The Late Models are right back at it on the 12th of July with round six of the Attica/WCS Challenge with a full program on CDL Night as everyone with a CDL gets in for 1/2 price. The next two weeks will see the Sprints back in the bright lights as the OVSCA is back for the second time this season. Everybody but the Late Models will be in action on July 19th but the next week when the BOSS wingless Sprints return for their second visit, all class’ will be competing.

The Super Stock Nationals will kick off the August schedule with a full program on Business/Advertiser Night as anyone with a receipt from a NAPA WCS sponsor will get two dollars off general admission. The seventh leg of the Attica/WCS Late Model Challenge will take place on the 9th of August at NAPA WCS with all class’ in action. May 2nd, June 20th, July 11 and August 30 are the dates for Attica’s Challenge races.

The Mini Stocks grab the spot light on August 16th with their big race of the season as a full program is on tap also for that night while Season Championships will take place on Saturday, August 23rd with another Lowe’s Kid’s Clinic Night and Driver’s Autograph Night on tap.

The Labor Day Sunday Special will see the UNOH All Star Sprints in for their third go around and for the first time ever, the RUSH Late Model Series rolls into the Orrville speedplant. The touring group of the Crate Late Models will visit 5 states and Canada this season and is one of the fastest growing organizations in racing. The Super Stocks will be in action also.

The season will close out at NAPA WCS ON the weekend of September 19th and 20th with the second annual Dirt Blow out. Friday night will be practise for all divisions with a BBQ and a Band and then Sprints, Late Models, Modifieds, Super Stocks, Trucks and Mini Stocks and Wedges will finish out the 2014 season.
