35 Raceway’s Crusier Enduro lived up to its hipe
2 min readFans Packed 35 Raceway Park and again saw some very Exciting action Saturday night with 29 competitors and 5 different leaders, in the 50 lap Cruiser Enduro where there are drivers and passenger’s in a run what you brung event, with everything from a mini van, a station wagon, a Jeep and some pick up trucks among the competition. The Frankfort’s Rodney Smith in the number V8 Monte Carlo looked as if he might dominate the race, on lap 8 Swade Shaffer in the 732, S 10 Pick-up collided with the 666 of Wilmington’s, Jason Edwards resulting in a red flag as the number 732 rolled in turn 3 with Shaffer and Company un-injured, the S 10 Pick-up was not so lucky and unable to continue as Smith lead the first 15 laps when a car on the back stretch came to a stop causing Smith to strike it and cut Smiths right front tire with Smith retiring his ride pit side, leaving the ride of Edwards in the 666 at the point to battle Washington Courthouse’s Nick Roberts in the 12 and Kevin Roberts in the 22R by lap 27 the Kevin Roberts in the 22R took the point, as the 187X of Frankfort’s Matt Shaffer moved to the second spot thru lap 45 when both encountered lapped traffic Shaffer took the lead for good on lap 48 to take the win as Kevin Roberts in the 22R took second with Williamsport’s JR Lemaster and Company in the #4 mini van taking third 3rd and an impressive run for Frankfort’s Zack Hottinger and company in the 823 moving from 16th starting spot to take 4th as Frankfort’s Cody Ralston took 5th in the U81. the 2013 Banquet of Champions is set for November 9th
Racing action will return to the Bull Ring next spring.
