Boggs and Carrier snag $10,000 in Epic Weekend Finale!

(Peebles, OH) For 13 years the American Heritage Classic has been a tradition at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex and Saturday the race added a new winner to its long list. The weekend started on Thursday Night with a full evening of racing action similar to that of a regular night at BMC. Thursday’s Late Model feature winner would earn themselves a locked in position to Saturday’s finale. Mike Meyers out dueled Josh McGuire for the Thursday night victory. Other winners on Thursday Night included Adam Stricker in the Modifieds, Danny Hamilton in the PF2 Trucking Sport Mods, Jerren Perdue in the Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Cars, and Randy Johnson in the Crazy Compacts.

Friday Night included American Heritage Classic (UMP Late Models) Qualifying and Heat Races along with a full OVSCA 410 Sprint Car show. Jackie Boggs of Grayson, KY started off the night by setting fast time. The heat races rolled off as Tim Dohm, Jackie Boggs and Dustin Linville picked up heat race victories. In OVSCA Sprint Car feature Nathan Skaggs picked up the win. Nathan has had a string of bad luck in the past at BMC and is hoping that this win has ended all of that. The UMP Late Model heat races set the field for the 13th annual American Heritage Classic the following evening.

All eyes turned to Saturday night as the Finale of the Epic Weekend feature Modifieds, Legend Cars, and two 50 Lap $10,000 to win Features for the Late Models! The First 50 Lap Late Model race rolled on the track kicking off the night of feature racing action. Jackie Boggs lead flag-to-flag to pick up the $10,000 payday. The Modifieds rolled on to the track next with Dave Jamison rolling to the uncontested win. The Legend car division saw a lap 2 accident that took out three drivers sending DJ Duderstadt flipping end over end several times. Jerren Perdue picked up the win in the legend car division. Finally it was time for the final Late Model race. The Winner of this race would have the choice of a New Harley Davidson Motorcycle or $10,000. At the drop of the green Zach Dohm of Cross Lanes, WV jumped out to the lead. He was eventually overtaken by “Insane” Duane Chamberlain. Duane Chamberlain lead several laps but the “Salt Rock Express” Eddie Carrier JR was on the move. Finally Carrier reach Chamberlain around the midway point of the race. Chamberlain started to fight off Carrier. Carrier took his #28 machine high and low trying to pass the #20 of Chamberlain. After relentless battling, Eddie Carrier Jr prevailed and took the lead. Carrier never looked back from there took the checkered flag! When Eddie pulled into victory lane it was decision time. Steven Partin asked the Salt Rock, WV native if he wanted “The Bike or the Bank”. Eddie said he talked to car owner Carl Grover and he had to take the $10,000. Eddie Carrier JR rolled home with another check from Brushcreek and thus concluded the Epic Weekend. It was a weekend full of action and excitement but in the end Eddie Carrier JR picked up the finale win.
