Stout, Hamilton, Jamison, Latham, and Minshew Pick Up the Win on August 24th
3 min read(Peebles, OH) A warm sunny day turned into a cool evening as the regulars of Brushcreek Motorsports Complex took to the track for the Second-to-Last regular event of the 2013 season. It was School Colors Night with a discount being given to anyone wearing a High School or College shirt. The championship point races are winding down with the season but as some are locked into championship positions, others are still fighting for their first Championships!
The first race of the evening was the always exciting Crazy Compact division. Young Tommy Stout Jr at the age of 12 lead the field to the green flag. Jamie Simpson didnt let Stout get too far ahead as she kept right on his rear bumper. As the laps wound down Simpson was slowly catching Tommy Stout, trying to make the pass for the win. As the white flag flew, indicating the final lap, Simpson had one last shot at Tommy Stout but could not get it done. Tommy Stout Jr picked up his first win in only his Second start! Jamie Simpson and Tony Whaley followed in the finish order.
The PF2 Trucking Sport Mods were next on track. Daniel Hamilton had mechanical issues last week but he was looking to continue his dominance this week. Hamilton lead flag-to-flag as he extends his point lead. Following Daniel Hamilton across the line was Same Hobbs, Steven Cruse, Brad McGlone and Weston Crosby. The Modifieds were up after the Sport Mods. Young Josh Rice and Adam Stricker lead the Modified field to the green flag. Dave Jamison got past Josh Rice on the opening lap but Rice wasnt giving up. Josh Rice worked high and low throughout the 15 Lap feature trying to get past the 2012 Modified Track Champion. As the laps wound down the two found themselves working through lap traffic. Jamison worked his way through traffic more efficiently than Rice and this factor won Jamison another trip to BMC Victory lane. In victory lane Dave said ” I Knew He (Josh Rice) was going to be tough, i had to beat him on the start”. Jamison also went on to thank his sponsors “Central Star Drilling, Dargie Race Engines, Lightning Chassis and K&S Vinyl Graphics”. Following Dave Jamison under the flag was Josh Rice, Shaun Scott, Adam Stricker and Colton Newman.
The Late Models hit the track following the Modified victory lane celebration and Nick Latham accompanied by Rob Starkey lead the race to the green. Nick Latham was able to pick up his FIRST win ever! Nick had the whole family in victory lane celebrating his crowning achievement. Following Latham across the line was Dillon Huron, Rob Starkey, Mark Morrison, and Chris Shannon. The Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Cars were the final class to hit the track. Derek Minshew picked up his 4th win of his career and the 2013 season. Following Minshew across the line were Steve Duderstadt, Jerren Perdue, Josh Francis and John Gutman.
