Legendary Hilltop August Schedule Updates and Information
3 min readThe 2013 racing season is in full swing at the Legendary Hilltop Speedway located in Marietta, Ohio. Each and every race night drivers and fans have flocked to the 1/4 mile clay oval to see the regions best drivers battle it out. The action will heat up in August as multiple special events are planned at the speedway.
A schedule change for Friday August 2nd will see the addition of a $1000 to win $100 to start Steel Block Late Model Topless 30 event. The steel block class is a staple at the speedway and has thrilled the crowd with close racing and tight finishes each and every week. Expect a stout field of competitors to challenge the weekly hard chargers. This event will replace the orignally scheduled OVSCA 410 Sprint event. Series and track officials are working on a possible reschedule date for later in 2013. Joining the steel block late models in action will be the AMRA Modifieds, Hot Mods, FWD 4-clyinders and the WRA Mini-Wedges. General Admission will be $10.00 for Adults and Children 12 & Up, $10.00 for Seniors (60 & older with state ID) and children under 10 free. Pit prices will be $30.00. Driver’s meeting will be at 7:30pm with racing to follow.
Sunday August 4th the speedway will hold its first enduro event. General Admission is just $5.00 with pit passes priced at $15.00. Car Registration is also $15.00. Rules and payout are available on the website or by calling the number below.
Friday night August 9th, the full-blown AMRA Super Late Models make there first appearence in the modern era for a 30 Lap $1200 to win $150 to start main event. Full AMRA points will be awarded. With other tracks closed in the area, and the precious points on the line look for an outstanding field of Super Late Models to try their hand on the tight 1/4 mile bullring. Joining the Late Models will be all the weekly racers at the Legendary Hilltop Speedway. Steel Block Late Models, AMRA Modifieds, Hot Mods, FWD 4-clyinders, and the WRA Mini-Wedges. General Admission will be $15.00 for Adults and Children 10 & Up, $12.00 for Seniors (60 & older with state ID) and children under 10 free. Pit prices will be $30.00. Driver’s meeting will be at 7:30pm with racing to follow.
Friday night August 16th, it will be the Old Timer’s/Racer’s Reunion event. We invite all the racer’s from yesteryear for an event that will truly bring back memories. Interviews and stories will excite the fans and driver’s alike. It will be a night that fan’s will not want to miss. A regular racing program will be on tap with the steel block late models, AMRA Modifieds, Hot Mods, FWD 4-Clyinders, and the Mini-Wedges. General Admission will be $12.00 for Adults and Children 10 & Up, $10.00 for Seniors (60 & older with state ID) and children under 10 free. Pit prices will be $30.00. Friday night August 23rd, it will be a $400 to win Hot Mod 25 Lap invitational event. The event will be the first special event for the new division which growing in cars and fans weekly. All other regular classes will compete on the 23rd including the Steel Block Late Models, AMRA Modifieds, Hot Mods, FWD 4-clyinders, and the WRA Mini-Wedges. General Admission will be $12.00 for Adults and Children 10 & Up, $10.00 for Seniors (60 & older with state ID) and children under 10 free. Pit prices will be $30.00. There will be no racing at the speedway on Friday night August 30th or Friday September 6th as special events around the area will be the center of attention including the Washington County Fair and local Sternwheel Festival. Racing will resume on Friday September 13th with an event to be announced in the coming weeks. Racing is slated to continue through the rest of month of September. Look for a release near the end of the month of August for information regarding the racing coming up for the rest of the 2013 racing season!
