Gigantic Night of Racing Returns to the Bullring on Retro Race Night

(Middlebourne, WV) With Mother Nature on a hot streak by racking up rain outs with ease, the Hometown Racing Association will look to break her stranglehold on the Tyler County Speedway victory lane with a monumental night of action this Saturday Night, July 13th.

The previously rained out Eaton/Childers King of the Ring event from Thursday, July 4th has been added to the already jam packed July 13th card making it a must see event for area fans. The areas premier super late model teams will return to the ‘bullring’ in search of the prestigious Eaton/Childers King of the Ring crown in dueling twin $1,200 to win 25 lap super late model features. Former winners of this race include: 1999′ Gary Dalton, 2002′ Bobby Hill, 2003’Bobby Hill, 2004′ Steve Wilmoth, 2005′ Steve Shaver, 2006′ Mike Balzano, 2007′ Paul Wilmoth, 2008′ Rick Aukland, 2009′ Eddie Carrier Jr., 2010′ Paul Wilmoth, 2011′ Zack Dohm, 2012′ Ricky Williams, who will it be in thirteen?

Also on the standout schedule of events will be the Annual Pat Herrick Memorial presented by Wayside Furniture for the Chris Metz State Farm Insurance Modlite division. The regions best Modlite racers of the STARS Modlite Series will roll into town looking to take down the pesky ‘bullring’ contingent of Josh Baldwin, Brandon Fluharty, Mitch Ward, Jeff Fornash and others as they defend the hometurf and the $800 to win/$100 to start loot to go with it.

A trio of past speedway legends will be honored as we celebrate the careers and achievements of Beecher Eaton, Bill Childers and Pat Herrick at the very appropriate and fitting Retro Race Night at the speedway. Join us for a night of nostalgia as we honor three past speedway greats in appreciation of the good ol’ days. Not only will we see the typical action packed card of intense Tyler County Speedway elbows up racing but throwback helmet dashes, checkered flag laps, heat race pay, a Hotmod ‘Crack the Whip’, Modlite ‘King of the Kounty’ and more are on tap in honor of the golden era of Ohio Valley racing.

General admission is priced at $18, while children 10 and under are free, while entry into the pits is just $35. Gates open at 4 pm, the Wells Inn Mini Wedges hit the track at 6 pm, with hotlaps/qualifying getting underway at 7 pm. The Tyler County Speedway is located 4 miles south of Middlebourne, WV on State Route 18 at the Tyler County Fairgrounds.
