Kids Night Produces A Great Night Of Racing Action At Brushcreek
2 min read(Peebles, OH) A sunny, warm day turned into a night full of racing action and fun at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex. Saturday was Kids Night presented by Mt. Hope Bible Camp. It was a full night of fun and games for the kids coordinated by the staff from the Mt. Hope Bible Camp. The racing action also featured a special class, the Southern Ohio Lightning Mini-Sprints which made its first of two scheduled races at BMC in 2013. The racing action heated up as the sun went down for Kids Night presented by Mt. Hope Bible Camp.
The first division to hit the track for feature racing action was the Crazy Compacts. Randy Johnson drove to the victory in a dominating fashion making it two wins in a row for the #48 car. Randy Johnson currently leads the Crazy Compacts points for 2013. Following the Crazy Compacts were the Southern Ohio Lightning Mini-Sprints. These sprints powered by 1000cc engines were super fast on the 3/10 mile track. Chris Smalley picked up the win after battling side by side with Todd Wills for several laps. The Mini-Sprints will be returning this Saturday, June 15th!
The PF2 Trucking Sport Mods were up next in the racing line up. Daniel Hamilton won the feature event with ease picking up his first win at Brushcreek Motorsports Complex ever! Following the PF2 Trucking Sport Mods were the Modifieds. Dave Jamison picked up the 15 Lap feature win and his first win of the 2013 season. The 2012 Champion got off to a slow start but is back on track in 2013. Following Jamison across the line was Jimmy Stricker, Jeremy Scott, Tyler Newman, and Davey Warnock.
The Late Models hit the track next for their 20 Lap A-Main. The Entire race William Blair Jr. chased 2011 Track Champion Chris Shannon. Shannon could not pull far from Blair but he ended up rolling into victory lane in his Club29 Rockett Chassis #9 car. William Blair Jr Came home second with Mark Morrison, Dillon Huron and Paul Moore following. The final racing event of the night was the Ohio Valley Roofers Legend Car A-Main. Steven Partin worked the back bumper of the crippled #91 of Jerren Perdue for the entirety of the 15 Lap race but Perdue was able to pick up his first win at BMC and his second of 2013. Perdues car was crippled with drive train issues early in the race but this did not slow him. Josh Francis, Cole DeMint and Tom Partin rounded out the top five.
