OVSCA Back to Back in the Ohio Valley This Weekend

2 min read

Parkersburg, WV- After a full field of sprints on a cloudy and rain threatening opener at Skyline Speedway, the Ohio Valley Sprint Cars will return for a second show this Friday night. Skyline’s track crew has been hard at work since Saturday afternoon, and with Mother Nature calling for clear skies for the remainder of the week, it is expected to be in tip-top shape for a Friday night sprint car battle. Jim Stinson, three-time track champion walked out with the win last week, but Kory Crabtree made him work for the finish. The competition at Skyline is always broad with a wide variety of winners throughout the season. This weekend’s event will be the last race for drivers to tune in before the $2000 to win and $250 to start Sprint Special on May 31. Considering Billy Jarrell’s generous track point fund, Skyline always draws an exceptional group of sprints and this weekend expects just the same. In addition to sprints, AMRA Late Models and Modifieds as well as WRA Mini Wedges will be on the program. Following Skyline, the Ohio Valley sprint cars will be headed to Ohio Valley Speedway for a change of pace in track style and racing action. Gates open at 4:00 and Racing begins at 7:00. General admission: $15, Senior Citizens: $12, Kids 12 and under: Free, All Pit Passes: $30

Chris Myers picked up a hard fought battle and his first career win last visit to “the Valley” through what many have explained to be one of the most exciting sprint car races they have ever seen. Ohio Valley Speedway is a driver favorite with long stretches and tight corners. The racey surface makes for excitement for both drivers and fans alike. In addition to the faces at Skyline Speedway Friday night, OVSCA expects to see several additional drivers in the house for Saturday’s program. This Saturday is also kids’ night at Ohio Valley Speedway, where kids 10 and under will be allowed to participate in the “gold rush” for cash on the front stretch. There will also be bicycle give aways throughout the night. Gates open at 4:00 and racing begins at 7:30. General admission: $15, Kids 10 and under: Free, All Pit Passes: $30
