SRRS Showdown Adds $10,000 To Win Event At I-77
2 min readThe Southern Regional Racing Series is excited to announce that we have added a $10,000 to win event during our 2nd annual SRRS Showdown. We will be making our first ever appearance in West Virginia at I-77 Raceway Park in Ripley, WV on July 1st. The rain date for this event is July 2nd.
The Almost Heaven 77 will be the first $10,000 to win SRRS event in two years.
The entry fee for this event will be only $100 plus $25 for transponders fee. This event will feature two-at-a-time qualifying, Quick Six or Eight Dash (depending on car count; cars will draw for starting positions in dash), SRRS heat races, B-mains, a 30 lap Non-qualifier race (winner has option of taking the money or starting 25th), and a 77 lap main event
This race will be following our first ever appearance at Lake Cumberland Speedway for the Firecracker 40 on June 30th. This brings the Showdown to six events in seven days.
During the 2012 SRRS Showdown, we saw Todd Morrow, Ray Cook, and Dustin Linville take home SRRS paydays.
Duck River Raceway Park will once again kick off the SRRS weekend on Thursday, June 27th with a $3,000 to win event. The SRRS will then travel to Boyd’s Speedway in Ringgold, GA for another $3,000 to win event on Friday night (June 28th).
We will then head north to Smoky Mountain Speedway in Maryville, TN for a $3,000 to win event on Saturday night (June 29th). We will then cross the border to invade Burnside, KY for a $3,000 to win event at Lake Cumberland Speedway for the SRRS Firecracker 40 on Sunday night (June 30th).
On Monday night, we will be at I-77 Raceway Park for the $10,000 to win event. On Wednesday (July 3rd), we will end our showdown and crown our champion of the mini-series within in a series at Wartburg Speedway with a $4,000 to win event.
The Showdown points fund for this year will be announced at a later date.
