Road To The 50th Hillbilly Hundred Mini Series Planned For Bullring

(Middlebourne, WV) The Hometown Racing Association, promoters of the Tyler County Speedway are pleased to announce the running of the ‘Road to the 50th Hillbilly Hundred Mini Series’ for Super Late Models in 2018. A seven race series showcasing the ‘Bullrings’ biggest super late model races of the season in anticipation of the biggest race in track history, the 50 running of Carl Short’s Hillbilly 100 paying an unprecedented $50,000 to win Labor day weekend Aug. 31-Sept. 2nd, featuring the Lucas Oil Dirt Car Series.

The series will kick off on Saturday, April 7th with the running of the 30th Annual Earl Hill Memorial paying $5,000 to win and welcoming to the speedway for the first time ever a co-sanctioned event between the Ultimate North East Super Late Model Series and the Ultimate Mid-Ohio Valley Super Late Model Series. Leg #2 will be the always fan favorite $3,000 to win 24th Annual Topless 50 as the marquee event will be joined by the prestigious open wheel ‘Let it Ride 55’ for modifieds. The second oldest topless late model race in America will take the green on Saturday, May 5th. A rare Sunday night show on May 27th will see the areas best shootout in the ‘Battle of the Bullring’ for $2,000 to win and Mega Qualifiers on the line in event #3. Events #4 and 5 will see Pennsylvania’s ULMS Late Models invade the ‘Bullring’ in dueling $3,000 and $5,000 main events as part of the lucrative 4th Annual Mega 100 weekend on June 1-2.

As the Tyler County Speedway heads into the month of August, the competition starts to ratchet up in anticipation of the ‘granddaddy’ of all super late model major events with event #6, the Hillbilly Qualifiers slated for Saturday, Aug. 18th. Race #7 of the 2018 Road to the 50th Hillbilly Hundred Mini Series will see the culminating ‘Outhouse 30’on Saturday, Sept. 1 paying $5,000 to win while giving the best super late models in the region one last shot to dial in their machines in anticipation of the 50th running of the Hillbilly Hundred.

The Tyler County Speedway 2018 season gets underway on Saturday Night, March 31st with the 44th Annual Season Opener.

Tyler County Speedway is located 3 ½ miles south of Middlebourne, WV on State Route 18 at the Tyler County Fairgrounds approximately an hour from Wheeling, Clarksburg & Parkersburg.
