(Middlebourne, WV) The 2017 season finale at the Tyler County Speedway may be the most diverse program in track history. An all-day smorgasbord of speed, destruction and mayhem will greet folks to the ‘Fall Brawl’ on Saturday, October 7th as part of the Annual Middle Island Harvest Festival. From Kids events like ‘Trick or Treating to Power Wheels Derby to racing on the ¼ mile ‘Bullring’ to smashing and crashing Demo Derby to the action packed 100 lap Enduro plus the popular Trailer Race of Destruction there is literally something for just about everyone.

Highlighting the monster event will be the $1,500 to win 4th Annual Leslie Equipment ‘Working Man World Championship’ presented by Bosley Rental and Supply for the EDGE sanctioned ‘Sigler Fabrication’ Hot Mods presented by ‘Dave Poske’s Performance Parts’.
Chad Smith was the inaugural race winner, etching his name into the track records when he held off a fast closing Darin Clark in 2014. In 2015, post race inspection violations were found on the top 2 on track finishers, making 3rd finishing Travis Thomas the winner. Thomas successfully defended his title in 2016 in a race for the ages. Forced to start at the rear of the field after qualifying via the last chance race, Thomas had the crowd on their feet as he completed a 19th to first run with a winning pass on race leader Scott Moore inside of the final 5 circuits. As car counts have steadily continued to grow in the regions original and only true economy modified division, so has the talent and intensity.
2017 WMWC qualifier race winners Thomas, Jordan Shaffer, Tim Pennell, Daniel Muldrew and Thomas Sigler have already locked themselves into the starting field, as a record number of competitors are expected to attempt to qualify for the season ending special.

Based on the IMCA’s original sportmod rules, the Hot Mod division has attracted racers from diverse backgrounds. The hometown heroes are the backbone of weekly auto racing all over the USA. During the week, they are the factory workers, mechanics, oil field workers, construction, utility and retail workers, truck drivers and more. These hard working guys and gals from all over the region will gather for the final time of the season to buckle in for the classes most lucrative event of the season. The anticipation has been building all summer, the race teams have had a couple weeks to make final adjustments and try to find that little extra speed, and the fans will be the beneficiary as the grass roots racers will take center stage in the 2017 version of the Working Man Worlds Championship.

Not only will the workin’ men and women of the EDGE Hotmod division highlight the action on Saturday, October 7th as part of the show dubbed the ‘Fall Brawl’, all part of the annual Middle Island Harvest Festival. A jam packed family day of fun awaits as a Kids Trick or Treat Hay Ride will head thru the campground and pit area along with another popular Kids Power Wheels derby will also feature the youngsters. Plus don’t miss the return of the Kings of Karnage as the dudes of destruction compete in the third leg of the metal grinding series featuring Thomas Motorsports famous Full Size and Compact Demo Derbies along with a Compact Figure 8 event not to be missed. The Tyler County Speedway Enduro Series will put the lid on a successful 2017 season with the 4th event of the season named the ‘Smashing Pumpkin 100’, paying $500 to the winner. Also rounding out the stacked card will be the ‘back by popular demand’ Trailer Race of Destruction as campers, boats, etc. will be pulled around the ‘Bullring’ Figure 8 style with destruction being the name of the game. A must see! Gates will open at noon, with trick or treat getting underway at 2pm with action getting underway at 3pm.
