Conneaut, OH (August 1, 2017): Raceway 7 will remember two of its favorite personalities Friday with a 25-lap special for the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods sponsored by Cashen Ready Mix that will pay the biggest purse of the year for the open-wheeled class at the northeastern Ohio oval. Bob Vogt was a championship Late Model driver in the 1980s, winning a Raceway 7 championship and many feature events. Jackie could be found in the tower scoring for many years, both before electronic scoring, and after, running the system. Both are missed by the employees, fans, and competitors at the track. The Bonnell Collision Service E-Mods have been a fixture at the track since 1993 and are a crowd favorite every week.

Currently, defending champion Joel Watson leads the points for the Bonnell Collision Service E-Mods and has two wins, the most recent coming last Friday night. His lead is currently 46-points over Gary Eicher, the feature winner July 14. Third is Troy Johnson, at the front almost every outing but not yet getting to the Winner’s Circle. Will this be Troy’s week? Ken Zimmer, a two-time winner this season, is fourth with Jeff Johnson, not yet a winner, filling out the top five. Will either of the Johnson’s be able to score their first win in this prestigious event? Jeremy Double also has a feature win, that coming on opening night.

The format for this very special event will be group time trials to determine starting positions in the heats. Each heat will pay $100 to win with the top finishers going to a dash, also paying $100 to win. The dashes will determine the starting spots for the feature with the first dash setting the top six and the second dash setting spots seven through twelve. Heat and dash winnings are courtesy of sponsors Tregler Race Engines, 955 Automotive, Daniels Speed Supply, Johnson Gearing, and Gary & Bonnie Neubauer. Then, after the race the winner will draw two pills for additional $250 each.

All other regular divisions will race standard programs as the points races head into the final month of competition. Former division champion Kyle Zimmerman, the Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Model winner last Friday, leads the standings by a razor-thin margin of only one point over Dave Airgood. Airgood is a two-time winner this season. Darrell Bossard is third, another ten points back with Wendall Pinckney and opening night winner Chad Wright completing the top five. Airgood and Wright have two wins each while Chris Withers has a single win. Neither Pinckney nor Bossard have won yet this season.

The Bonnell Auto Group standings are topped by Brandon Blackshear, who holds a ten point advantage over defending champion Steve Haefke. Tyler Frankenberry, with a win last Friday and also on June 16th, is third with Eric Reinwald, the winner June 9, fourth, and Geoff Conn fifth. Conn’s best performance this season has been a second on July 14th. Mitchell Wright, currently seventh, also has a win, on July 14th.

In Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stock competition Jimmy Kennerknecht has two wins, the most recent being last Friday, and leads the standings by seven points over Jamie Duncan, winless this far this season. Chris McGuire, a one time winner this year, is third with Garrett Calvert and Don McGuire filling out the top five. Former class champion Shaun Fawcett won opening night. Tim Deutsch, Bobby Whitling, and Mike Miller also have feature wins this season.

The Sunnyside Farms Transit Mini Stocks point standings show June 2nd winner Joe Campbell the leader by 22-points over Bill Fuchs, who, in turn, has a big 62-point advantage over former champion Jason Easler. Jim Jones is another 30 markers back in fourth with Logan Keney another 24 back in fifth.
