Hawkins, Burdette & Hornsby Win On Bud Weigle Memorial Night

With Mother Nature not playing nice on Saturday, the Tyler County Speedway would open the gates on a rare Sunday occasion to a sunny sky and 135 race cars on the grounds in participation of the 5th Annual Bud Weigle Memorial.

Fairmont, WV’s Jared Hawkins would pick up his first J&R Excavating Super Late Model feature presented by Midcap Land and Timber. KC Burdette would hold off a hard charging Jacob Hawkins to snare his second straight 2 Brothers Motorsports AMRA Modified feature. 5th starting Henry Hornsby of Bradley, WV would pick up the Appalachian Mineral Title Company FASTRAK Late Model main event. Jordan Shaffer would grab win #2 of the season in the Sigler Fabrication EDGE Hotmod feature event. April Tennant would snare her third win of the season while keeping the Tennant win streak alive in the 4 Cylinder division at the Bullring. Defending track champion Ryan Saffell would pick up his first Jenkins Auto Parts Modlite feature of the season. Josalyn Hibbard would pick up her first Gear 2 Graphics MWRA Mini Wedge feature while George Casto III would continue his dominance in the Junior division.

No racing this coming Saturday, August 5th in observance of the 55th Annual Tyler County Fair. Be sure to head on out to the fair this week as ATV drags will be on Monday and the EDGE Hotmods, Modlite, 4 Cylinders and MWRA Mini Wedges will race on Tuesday Night. Wednesday will see a Rodeo at the track with Thursday’s Demolition Derby headlining. The Lucas Oil Truck Pull will showcase on Friday Night with a Mud Bog scheduled for Saturday. The Tyler County Speedway will come back for ‘Back to School’ Kids Night on Saturday Night, August 12th.
