Buckeye Late Model DirtWeek Set To Invade Skyline Speedway Friday

(Stewart, Ohio) The Skyline Speedway located in Stewart Ohio has all systems set on GO, as they welcome the Buckeye Late Model DirtWeek to the 3/8th mile red clay oval this Friday July 28th. Billed as the track’s most anticipated event of the summer, this $3,000 to win Late Model Buckeye DirtWeek date is expected to draw many of the region’s top Dirt Late Model talents, plus featuring a $1,000 Modified special along with Sport Mods, 4-Cylinders and WRA Mini Wedges.

The DirtWeek series which consists of 5 races within 8 days across the Buckeye State, is expected to draw numerous Late Model standouts to Skyline, where they will do battle against the tracks stout field of weekly competitors. With notable talents expected to on hand such as Jeff Babcock, “Hot Rod” Conley and former Harvest 50 winner Eddie Carrier Jr along with multiple Australian hot shoes led by Ben Nicastri and Paul Stubber, this coming Friday’s event is sure to give fans a diverse and talented field of Late Model competitors. Add in some of Skyline’s strongest regular competitors such as Tyler Carpenter, Jeremy Berwanger and Nick Dohm whom have all scored wins at the track in 2017, plus expected contenders such as Zach Milbee, Ralph Withem and more, this Friday’s event will be one of the “Can’t Miss” events of the summer!

More than just Late Models, the DirtWeek will also feature a $1,000 to win Modified special, which is expected to see one of the best Modified fields of 2017 on hand at the Skyline Speedway as apart of the special program. With the tracks top 4 in Modified points (Travis Dickson, Kenny Johnson, Kyle Bond, Mark Dickson) currently filling 4 of the top 5 in AMRA Modified National points, Skyline has proven to be one of, if not the toughest tracks within the Modified ranks in 2017. Add in the Buckeye DirtWeek’s point chasers, this event is sure to kick the excitement up a notch all evening long!

Even with the increased purses and attention on the Late Model and Modified portions of the event, Promoter Steve Curtis made the clear decision to ensure that the Sport Mod, 4-Cylinder and WRA Mini Wedges are all apart of this big racing program! Both the Sport Mod and 4-Cylinder divisions have provided plenty of excitement on the track thus far in 2017, and with many regular regulars locked in close point battles in their respective division, the action is expected to only heat up on Friday!

Also as noted, the WRA Mini Wedge’s will be racing as apart of program as the stars of tomorrow will be running an efficient yet intense evening of racing to ensure they are apart of the event of the summer at the Skyline Speedway.

Friday’s activities will kick off with gates opening at 3PM and racing set to begin at 7 with Mini Wedges. Hot Laps will begin after Mini Wedges (EVENT SCHEDULE TBA) with the complete racing program to follow.

In accordance with the series standards, General Admission will be at the one time price of $20 with kids 10 & under still remaining free. Pits will also be set at $35 with kids 5 & Under getting in the pits for $15.

The entire Skyline Speedway staff hopes to see a great crowd at the track come Friday night, and appreciate fans and teams patience through the off weeks as the track prepares for a fun upcoming stretch of racing. Promoter Steve Curtis has indicated that if Friday’s event is well received by fans and proves successful, the track has some special TBA events set to be announced in the coming weeks if possible!
