(Middlebourne,WV) A surprising heavy Friday Night rain fall producing flood watches, extremely wet grounds and an impassible pit area forced the Hometown Racing Association to pull the plug on the scheduled racing program and highly anticipated ‘Let It Ride 55’ for the second time this season. The 6th Annual Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour ‘Let It Ride 55’ has now been rescheduled for this coming Saturday Night, May 6th as part of the 23rd Annual Topless 50 for Super Late Models. While Mother Nature currently holds the winning hand over the ‘Bullring’ on three out of five events at the Tyler County Speedway thus far, officials are gearing up for one epic night this Saturday Night. A night for the ages is expected at West Virginia’s premier motorsports venue as the Northeast’s best will head to the hills as a double dose of 50 lappers will greet race fans as the Supers and the Renegades do battle in two of the sports premier races, the Topless 50 and the Let It Ride 55.

The always popular and fan favorite ‘Topless 50’ has a storied history in its 23rd year. The second oldest topless late model event in the country behind the Topless 100 at Batesville, Arkansas. The ‘Topless 50’ at Tyler County Speedway is a unique event in which all roofs and window supports are removed from the racecar to provide the fans with a “birds eye” view of the drivers as they work their way around the quarter mile speedway. The ‘Topless 50’ has provided some of the best side by side racing action and last lap finishes that make this event a must see year after year.

The extended 50 lap shows at the ‘Bullring’ always seem to bring out the best teams and provide the best racing action for the fans. A who’s who among late model racing stars have garnered past Topless 50’s including: 1995 Steve Steele, 1996 Butch McGill, 1997 Kenny Johnson, 1998 Chuck Harper, 1999 Butch McGill, 2000 Doug Horton, 2001 Paul Wilmoth, 2002 Paul Wilmoth, 2003 Chuck Harper, 2004 Mike Benedum, 2005 Robbie Scott, 2006 Sonny Conley, 2007 Mark Banal, 2008 Paul Wilmoth, 2009 Steve Shaver, 2010 Paul Wilmoth, 2011 Jared Hawkins, 2012 Jacob Hawkins, 2013 Jacob Hawkins, 2014 Sonny Conley, 2015 Jared Hawkins, 2016 Tim Dohm, 2017 ?????

Not only will the 6th Annual ‘Let It Ride 55’ feature the best open wheel racers on the east coast, a purse featuring a first place prize of $3,055, a one of a kind slot machine trophy but race fans will get the rare opportunity to watch the open wheel renegades go ‘Topless’ as well. Past winners of the coveted ‘Let It Ride 55’ include Tyler Nicely, Rick Aukland, Nick Hoffman, Tanner Wilson and last years winner the ‘Outlaw’ Jesse Wisecarver.

Two divisions going Topless, two mega events such as the Topless 50 and Let It Ride 55, not enough? How about a $1,000 to win ‘Topless’ FASTRAK Late Model special for the icing on top? See a host of the best Appalachian Mineral Title Company FASTRAK late models shed the roof and do battle for the $1,000 top prize. Too much topless action you say? Never, as the Tyler County Speedway will also present the Sigler Fabrication EDGE Hotmods presented by Poske Performance Parts and the Jenkins Auto Parts Modlite divisions removing their roofs in fine fashion giving the fans a rare glimpse into the cockpit of the best weekend warriors on the planet.

Truly an epic night at the ‘Bullring’ featuring two regional fan favorite shows, plus all other divisions racing ‘Topless’ for the first time, don’t miss it! Gates will open at 3pm with MWRA Mini Wedges scheduled for 5:45 and hotlaps/qualifying getting underway at 6:30. General admission is $20, with children 10 and under free, with pit admission priced at $35.
