Stellar Lineup Of Super Late Model Shows To Highlight Season At Bullring

(Middlebourne, WV) Knowledgeable race fans have long regarded the Tyler County Speedway as one of the nation’s raciest venues. The 2016 season had old time fans calling it possibly the best in the track’s 42 year history. They had good reason to do so. The ’16 season saw 55 different feature winners celebrate the ultimate thrill in the track’s six classes. An astounding 600+ different drivers compete on ‘The Bullring’s high banks, making a win of any type memorable. Additionally, over $650,000 in purse monies were awarded over the course of the 2016 season, making the Tyler County Speedway a popular destination for racers and fans alike.

The Bullring offers the distinction of offering a pair of Late Model and three totally different Modified divisions on their weekly race card. The region’s most aggressive schedule once again includes the only area appearance of both the World of Outlaw and Lucas Oil Late Model Series’, as well as the always exciting Big Block Modifieds. The spacious fairground facilities also provide a day of family fun, as playground, picnic and fishing can all be a part of the race day experience and are the reason may choose to take advantage of the campground area during race season.

In 2016, race fans witnessed 13 different winners out of 19 events in the ‘J&R Excavating Super Late Models presented by Midcap Land and Timber’. Tim Dohm, who understandably calls ‘The Bullring’ his favorite track, led the way with three wins including major events including the 27th Annual Earl Hill Memorial, 22nd Annual Topless 50, and 1st World of Outlaw win during the Jackpot 100. 2016 Late Model track champion Derek Doll successfully defended his point title and also scored a trio of feature wins. Youth was served, as Jared Hawkins and Michael Lake both claimed a pair of feature wins, the latter including the 5k ‘Sunoco Shootout’. Other big money winners included Scott Bloomquist, who finally was able to best the ‘Bullring’ with a win in the 48th ‘Hillbilly 100′, Mason Zeigler who captured the ’28th Annual Earl Hill Memorial’ and Josh Richards who popped the champagne cork after taking top honors in the World of Outlaw ‘Jackpot 100’. Picking up single wins were Robbie Scott, Steve Weigle, and Freddy Carpenter. Also picking up Steel Block Late Model wins were Jacob Hawkins in the ‘Hillbilly 50’, James Watson and Corey Delancey.

Sunday, September 3rd, $25,000 to win Lucas Oil Dirt Late Model Series 49th Annual Hillbilly 100

Along with the high paying shows above, all Late Model racers that pick up a coveted feature win at the ‘Bullring’ during the 2017 racing season will earn their way once again into the 2nd $5k to win Sunoco Shootout. The Shootout will take place once again on Saturday night, August 19th, during the 17′ Season Championship and Hillbilly Qualifiers.
