(Princeton, West Virginia) The Princeton Speedway located just off of Interstate 77 near the West Virginia/Virginia border is set to once again bring the excitement of dirt track racing back to the popular 3/8th mile facility in 2017. After a successful 2016 campaign that saw Princeton Speedway host races mainly on Friday’s, the track will now move back to the more traditional Saturday nights along with a special Monday show to make up their racing calender. The venue which is owned and operated by the Bishop family, is considered to be one of the gems of West Virginia racing facilities as the staff has made numerous facility improvements in recent years which has only added to the tracks always popular backstretch views, infield pits and unique track shape and surface!

With most of the tracks’ regular classes returning in 2017, both the Princeton Speedway and American Motor Racing Association (AMRA) are proud to share that the track will once again feature Octane AMRA Modified’s on a weekly basis along with a handful of special appearances by the McDonald’s AMRA Late Models! As in year’s past, Princeton’s racing season will kick off in late April and run through the early-mid September. Tentatively, the 2017 season opener at Princeton Speedway is set for SATURDAY April 29th and will then return on May 6th with the first of the special appearances by the McDonald’s AMRA Late Models. In addition to the May 6th event, the Late Models are slated to compete on June 3rd, July 8th (Star Spangled 30) and will once again headline the highly popular 4th Annual West Virginia Dirt Cup paying $5,000 to win on September 9th! As for the always exciting Octane AMRA Modififeds, as previously noted the track will feature the popular division as a weekly class, but will take the spotlight on numerous occasions throughout the season most notably on Monday July 3rd with the 2nd Annual ‘Freedom 30’ paying a track record $3,000 to win and again during the always special 7th Annual UBB (Upper Big Branch) Memorial Race on August 12th which has remained a very special and popular night of racing for both fans and teams!

All together, the track is tentatively set to host 18 races throughout the season, making Princeton Speedway a great place for both fans and teams to check out throughout the season! As always, each event will give fans a great value for their admission as along with the AMRA classes, the track will feature numerous other classes including a mix of Fastrak Late Models, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders and MORE. As for competitors, the Princeton Speedway staff is proudly establishing an improved points fund to reward teams for their efforts this season, by taking the track’s registration fee’s and 50/50 money and putting that money directly into a season points fund!
