Skyline Speedway Harvest 50 Set For Friday October 7th

(Guysville, Ohio) In a season that has seen it’s share of ups and downs for the Skyline Speedway, track officials are excited to cap off the 2016 racing season with a bang as the 3/8th mile clay oval will host it’s long popular “Harvest 50” event this Friday September 30th. The event which has been a staple in the Ohio Valley region for years, will look to recapture the excitement of the events past as the 2016 running of the event will feature a $3,000 to win STARS Late Models (AMRA points, rules) showdown plus a $1,000 to win AMRA Modified showdown in addition to racing in the Sport Mods (AMRA rules) and the first event for the new Mini Late Models in the region.

After sitting dormant for much of the summer, the track is now under the direction of CBMotorsports LLC which has made numerous facility upgrades and will host the Harvest 50 just weeks after their reopening in mid-September with the Sarah Bond Memorial. The Sarah Bond Memorial event saw an astounding 104 cars enter into the pits with a solid crowd in the grandstands and left fans and teams looking for more as the track prepares for this weekends event. The Memorial event saw regional standout Tyler Carpenter score both the AMRA Late Model and AMRA Modified feature wins to cap off a truly successful event.

On the heel’s of his 2/2 acing clinic in the Sarah Bond Memorial, Carpenter is expected to be on hand come Friday night as he will look to defend his title and take home back to back Harvest 50 events. Also expected to do battle on Friday night with the AMRA Late Models will be the likes of the Dohm’s, the other rest of Carpenter trio in Freddie and Chris plus other local and regional contenders such as Corey Conley, Jeremy Berwanger, Jason Gillian, and more. The drivers on hand looking to score the $3,000 win top prize, will also be looking to add their names to the impressive list of past event winners that include the likes of Rodney Combs, Bob Adams Jr, Larry Bond, Steve Shaver, Josh McGuire, Jackie Boggs and so many more! The event which originally took place in 1984, is sure to feature plenty of racing excitement again in 2016 and fans will not want to miss any of the action!

With the AMRA Modifieds also highlighting the evening with a $1,000 to win showdown, there will be numerous regional and local favorites gunning for Tyler Carpenter, such as the Bond and Roush racing families plus Jeremy Blake, Mike McPherson, Gary Gould and more. With this event taking place as apart of the AMRA Championship event, both the AMRA Late Models and AMRA Modifieds are expected to see some late season drama as teams will battle for every point in the final weekend of AMRA National Points. Also, as previously noted, the event will also see the Sport Mod (AMRA rules) do battle plus the first event for the Mini Late Model division as numerous drivers will be traveling into Skyline to compete in the debut event to promote the new series.

The event will see racing kickoff with gates opening at 3 PM and Racing set to begin at 7:30 with the evenings Hot Lap session. Ticket Prices for the Harvest 50 will be set at $15 for General Admission (kids 12 & under – free) plus $35 for ALL pit passes.
