Payoff Increased For The UFo “Red Miley Rumble” At PPMS August 27

(Mars, PA) The UFo Championship Challenge will invade the wide, multi-groove “Monster Half-Mile” at Pittsburgh’s Pennsylvania Motor Speedway for the Diehl Automotive UFo “Red Miley Rumble” on Saturday, August 27. The payoff has been increased throughout the field by the track and sponsors. Up to 32 cars will start the UFo Super Late Model championship.

The 35 lap UFo Super Late Model championship will now pay $3,053 to the winner with $553 extended to 9th, $453 extended to 14th and $353 extended to 20th. All feature starters will receive $300 minimum, with non-qualifiers paid $153. The event will feature a full racing program for the UFo Super Late Models including extended-lap heat races, consolations and the championship feature.

For this event, the UFo “instant bonus” has been extended to the top 15 drivers in the point standings after last week’s event at Stateline. Upon event completion, any of those drivers in attendance will receive a $200 bonus on top of the posted prize money. This translates to a minimum of $500 to start or $350 for non-qualifiers.

Previous Super Late Model winners of the “Red Miley Rumble” include Keith Barbara of South Park, PA, John Mollick of Toronto, OH, Gregg Satterlee of Rochester Mills, PA, Jared Miley of South Park, PA, Davey Johnson of Greensburg, PA and Bart Hartman of Zanesville, OH. Josh Richards of Shinnston, WV is a two-time winner, including the inaugural event.

The RUSH Late Models will be competing in a full racing program paying $753 and $53 to start/tow, with the Sportsman paying $353 and $53 to start/tow. Hobby Stocks and Young Gun 4-cylinders will also be in action.

Admission will be $25 grandstands, seniors 60+ $24, juniors 13-16 $15, children 6-12 $5, and pits $40. Reserved parking is available for $10 extra. UFo Super Late Models will have a $25 entry fee deducted from the final payoff. On June 11 at PPMS, gates will open at 5 PM with warm-ups at 6 PM and racing at 7 PM

The UFo Championship will attack the ½ mile clay superspeedway at Port Royal for the second time in 2016 on Saturday, September 3. The “Butch Renninger 33” will pay $3,300 possible to win and will kick off the 162nd annual Juniata County Fair at the fairgrounds track.

The “Butch Renninger 33” pays tribute to the three time Late Model track champion. Butch captured track championships in the beginning years of the division at Port Royal in 1966, 1967 and 1970. Butch is fourth on the all-time track Late Model winner’s list with 41 victories.

The 33 lap feature will pay $3,300 to win in honor of Butch’s car number. The race will pay $300 to start and non-qualifiers will receive $150. The mighty 410 Super Sprints will be in competition for $3,200 to win along with the Econo-Lates and Xtreme Stocks. This event will require Hoosier 1300 or American Racer 44 or harder, with a minimum hardness of 36. All other UFo tire specifications will apply.

All people entering the fairgrounds are required to pay $4 fair admission in addition to the race event ticket prices. Ticket prices for the UFo “Butch Renninger 33” will be $18 for regular grandstand admission and $7 for juniors age 12-18 in the grandstands. All pits tickets will be $32. All gates will open at 4:00 with warm-ups at 6:30 and racing at 7:00. The rain date for this event is Friday, September 9 and will run under the Route 35 Championship sanction instead of UFo Championship if that date is utilized.

Payoff for “Butch Renninger 33” at Port Royal Speedway

The “Connor Bobik Make-A-Wish 126” will take place at Dog Hollow Speedway on Sunday night, September 4. This race pays tribute to the son of the track photographer and his wife, Derek and Diane Bobik, who lost his battle with cancer in 2010. The Bobik family has raised over $30,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation through this event since its inception with their Chinese Auction. The “Connor Bobik Make-A-Wish 126” will be a mega-late model program with three total late model features during the night.

The UFo Super Late Models will compete in passing points, extended lap heat races, consolation(s) and a 41-lap championship feature. Dog Hollow allows open compound tires meeting UFo tire specs.

This year’s event has received some changes to the originally announced line-up due to the two weekly point events that were not run in August. The CARS Crate/Pro-Late Models will now compete in twin 20 lap features paying $600 to win, and $65 to start each race. Each feature will carry full track and CARS points. The 4-cylinder Sidewinders will race for $250 to win, along the Pure/Hobby Stocks both competing for track points. The PA Vintage Mods have also been added to the program.

At Dog Hollow pit gates will open a 3:00 with grandstands opening at 4:30. The pill draw cut-off will be at 5:50 with the drivers meeting at 6:00. Warm-ups for the Super Late Models will begin at 6:30 with racing at 7:00.

Grandstand admission is $20, seniors 60+ $17, junior 13-17 $10, children 7-12 $5. All pit tickets will be $35. Super Late Models and Pro-Lates will have a $25 entry fee deducted from final payoff. A $75 fee will be charged to any driver competing in multiple late model divisions.
