Legendary Hilltop Adds August 19th To Schedule

(Marietta, Ohio) Officials with the Legendary Hilltop Speedway in Marietta Ohio have made the decision to continue their busy 2016 summer of racing by adding a regular racing program this coming FRIDAY AUGUST 19th. Track staff members made the decision to add racing on the previously scheduled off date, due to strong car counts in recent weeks as well as a solid fan base that has held on over the summer months and even despite the high temperatures seen in recent weeks.

The quarter mile oval which sits along the banks of the Ohio River has seen it’s share of exciting racing thus far in the 2016 season. This past Friday’s race would see AMRA Late Model standout Freddie Carpenter make it three wins in a row at the track, plus current AMRA Modified points leader Tyler Evans scoring his first win of the season at the track, proving that the competition has been very tight. Now with numerous tracks across the region scheduled to take shows off this upcoming weekend, ‘The Top’ is sure to draw another excellent field of cars and deliver with an exciting racing program as all of the venues regular classes will be in action. On tap for the evening will of course by the exciting AMRA Late Models, AMRA Modifieds, AMRA Sport Mods, Street Stocks, 4 Cylinders and the WRA Mini Wedge division featuring the stars of tomorrow!

Friday’s racing program will see gates swing open at 3 PM with racing set to begin at 7:05 with the Mini Wedge heat races. Admission prices to the event will remain at $12 (Gen Admission) with Kids 10 & under remaining free. Pit Passes will be $30 for the event and as always, the track will have transponders available for rent.
