Conneaut, OH (July 6, 2016): This week at Raceway 7 kids in uniforms will be admitted free. All kids arriving at the raceway wearing a uniform, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, Brownies, Little League, or other kid’s sports team will be admitted free of charge.

The hottest time of the year is July and the racing really heats up with the second half of the season now in full swing with the points battles really heating up. Darrell Bossard leads the Evergreen Lake a park Campground Crate Late Model championship standings by only thirteen points over Dennis Lunger, the 2009 champion. Bossard and Lunger each have two wins on the season, with last week belonging to the Centerville, PA native, Bossard. Kyle Zimmerman, also a former champion, has four wins but is third, another 31 markers behind Lunger. Wendall Pinckney is the other winner this season and is currently fourth with Chris Withers filling out the top five.

Joe, Watson is dominating the Bonnell’s Collision Center E-Mod standings, winning six features of the non contested. As a result, Watson, a many time champion, leads Dennis Lunger, still winless in the division, by a massive 110-point margin. Troy Johnson, also winless, is another eighteen markers behind Lunger. Defending champion Percy McDonald, probably out of competition for the remainder of the year due to a work-related injury, is fourth, another 94-points behind Johnson. Dan McDonald is fifth. Mike Potosky has two wins and Mike Kinney has been to Victory Lane once.

Opening night winner Rob Bates, a repeat winner June 17th, leads the Campbell’s Mini Storage Street Stock chase by 51 markers over defending champion Shawn Fawcett, a two-time winner. Three-time winner Chris McGuire is third, another 135-points back with Mark Sanders and Jimmy Kennerknecht filling out the top top. Kennerknecht and Leigh Wheeler each have a feature win.

Steve Haefke, with five wins, leads defending Bonnell’s Auto Group Economod champion Rick Prosser, a two-time winner, by 29-points. Single winner Eric Reinwald is third another 104-points back. Mike Harmon and Kevin Sergeff are fourth and fifth. Tyler Frankenberry collected his sole win of the season on May 27th.

Jason Easler has dominated the McDonalds Sand & Grave Mini Stocks this season winning six features so far, including the las three in a row! With that record Easler enjoys a 63-point edge over Hoyt Mihalak, not yet a visitor to Victory Lane this summer. Former champion Bud Sergeff is third, another 109 points back with a win May 20th. Kyle Adkins, not yet a winner, but a threat every week, is fourth, just fifteen points back of Sergeff. Defending champion Brad Cole is currently fifth with one win (June 10 special). The other 2016 winner was Andy Proper, who won on June 3.

As the championship races heat up along with the summer sun, racing will become more intense than ever as the season progresses. Anything can happen in the heat of summer nights as tempers flare and driver’s right feet get heavier. Will Bossard, Watson, Bates, Haefke, and Easler continue their “up-front” seasons? Or will the rest of the fields manage to reel them in for an exciting last half of 2016? Every week will be a battle!
