Driver Appreciation Night Set For This Friday At Raceway 7

Conneaut, OH (May 17, 2016): Raceway 7 will show its appreciation to the drivers that make every Friday night special at Raceway 7 by awarding thousands of dollars worth of prizes this week, all donated by area and national businesses. Drawings will be held in all classes with participating companies including Bazell Oil, Lias Tires, Integra Shocks, Close Racing Supply, Amsoil (Gary Neubuer), MCR, McDonald Sand and Gravel. McDonald Meats, Lake Coty Paint, Performance Bodies, All Star Racing, Brad Penn Oil, Afco Racing, and Race 1 (Brad Hibbard). All prizes will be given out during intermission. A drum of racing fuel, oil filters, shocks, tires, and other race car parts will be awarded as well as gift certificates for many businesses are among the prizes offered.

In racing action all five classes will compete with regular length features for each class. The Evergreen Lake Park Campground CARS Crate Late Model class has had two winners in as many weeks. Kyle Zimmerman and Dennis Lunger both have wins but it’s Darrell Bossard leading the standings by ten markers over Lunger with Zimmerman third. Dave Lyon and Breyton Santee fill out the top five.

Last Friday night Mike Potosky ended an eight year win drought in the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods. With opening night winner Joel Watson not racing last week Potosky leads the way in the season points chase over John Woodward by sixteen points. Troy Johnson is another two points back with Dennis Lunger (returning to E-Mods this summer) and rookie Josh Ferry filling out the top five.

Opening night winner Rob Bates leads the Campbell Mini Storage Street Stocks by a huge margin after only two weeks of racing. Week 2 winner Leigh Wheeler is 80 points back in second with Jimmy Kennerknecht third, Tony Marotto fourth, and Terry Wheeler fifth.

Defending champion Rick Prosser leads the Bonnell Auto Sales Economods after winning last week. Opening night winner Steve Haefke trails by 26 markers with Eric Reinwald, Josh Mueller, and Kevin Sergeff third through fifth.

Jason Easer, a double winner after only two weeks of racing, leads the McDonald Sand & Gravel Mini Stocks over Casey Harmon by 24 points. Hoyt Mihalak is currently third with defending champion Brad Cole fourth and defending champion Bud Sergeff fifth.

Raceway 7 is located six miles south of Interstate 90 on Rt 7 in the town of Monroe Center, OH and races every Friday night May — September. Racing begins at 7:30 PM every Friday. General admission for regular events is $10 and children 7-14 admitted for $5 each. Kids 6 and under are always free. NO PETS are admitted to the track! Fan and pit gates open at 5:30 PM. Pit admission is $25 with minimum age 16. Children under 16 admitted with a “Minor Release” form available at pit gate that must be filled out by a parent accompanying the youth.
