Tyler County Speedway Releases 2016 Schedule

(Middlebourne, WV) The Hometown Racing Association are proud to unveil a fan friendly action packed 2016 racing schedule. As the ‘Bullring’ embarks on its 42nd season of continuous operations, 2016 will once again parlay the many tradition laden events fans have come accustomed to but also unveil some new and unique events to look forward to.

Before the 2016 kicks off in grand fashion we must close the door on the 2015 schedule as the 2015 Champions Banquet has been rescheduled for Friday Night, February 26th at the Lewis/Wetzel Family Center located behind the New Martinsville Hospital.

Get your first look at the 2016 racers as they hit the ‘Bullring’ on Saturday, March 26th for a ‘Stand On It’ Saturday practice session with the 42nd Annual Grand opening taking the green flag the following Saturday, April 2nd.

The action heats up rather quickly as the Pennsylvania based ULMS Series invades the Tyler County Speedway with the 2015 rescheduled $5,000 to win 27th Annual Earl Hill Memorial on Saturday, April 9th. See the likes of Max & Rob Blair, Dave Hess, Mike Knight and others take on the regions best Super Late Model hot shoes in the prestigious Earl Hill Memorial. A quick turnaround will see a special Thursday Night edition of three wide action featuring a double dose of speed as the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour opens up their 2016 campaign with the Heritage 101 Harley event and the relaunch of the AMRA STARS Racing Series will welcome fans on Thursday Night, April 14th. The ‘Bullring’ will close out a busy April with a pair of Family Nights including the Bridgeport Equipment 4H & FFA Night on Saturday, April 23rd and Fast Four Family Fun Night on April 30th.

May kicks off with the fan favorite 22nd edition of the popular Topless 50. We welcome the UFo Series back to the Middlebourne oval as the alien invaders square off against the ‘Bullrings’ best and the AMRA STARS travelers in a $3,000 to win main event on Saturday, May 7th. Also the UFO Topless Semi Lates will battle for a $1,000 top prize. Always a contender for race of the year honors as the Topless 50 rarely disappoints.

The 10th Annual Tammy Clegg Tribute EDGE Hotmod special will roll off on May 14th with the Jackpot 100/ Let It Ride 55 Qualifiers Kids Night taking place on Saturday, May 21st as the Tyler County Speedway prepares for the huge Memorial Weekend World of Outlaw Jackpot weekend.

The first multi day event on the jam packed Tyler County Speedway schedule will once again celebrate Memorial Day with a double header weekend on Saturday and Sunday, May 28-29 by welcoming the World’s Most Powerful Stock Cars of the World of Outlaw Late Model Series for a pair of 8k and 10k to win shows. The 5th Annual Jackpot 100 weekend will also feature the traditional 5th edition of the Renegades of Dirt $5,555 to win ‘Let It Ride 55’ showcasing the nations premier open wheel modified stars.

June will open up with a bang at the ‘Bullring’ literally as we welcome the 1st of three events for the Kings of Karnage that will feature a family friendly night of mayhem and destruction featuring a Full Size/Compact Demo Derby and Figure 8’s along with a first time ever Schools Out Bus Race on Saturday Night, June 4th. The Kings of Karnage will also entertain on Saturday Night, July 2nd as the daredevils of the dirt will highlight a Red, White & Boom Firework Extravaganza. The destruction will conclude with a fall spectacular with date tba with a must see Trailer Race of Destruction highlighting the card.

Back for the third edition will be the ‘Pack the Track’ Night on Saturday, June 11th as we cram as many race fans as possible into the ‘Bullring’ as tickets are FREE, courtesy of the Hometown Racing Association. Another wallet saving evening of entertainment will see a $5 Super Saver Summer Special and 6th Annual Pat Herrick Memorial roll off on Saturday Night, June 18th. The traditional FASTRAK Eaton/Childers King of the Ring will star on Saturday Night, June 25th as we pay homage to two past speedway greats plus enjoy an evening with our annual Old Timers Reunion.

A double header weekend will celebrate the Independence weekend as the Kings of Karnage kick off the weekend on Saturday, July 2nd with the inaugural running of the Patriot 200 capping the weekend on Sunday, July 3rd. The Patriot 200 will see 200 feature laps, 10 divisions, with a unique Commemorative Eagle trophy to the winner of each class in a can’t miss night of action.

The month of July will see the second running of the Mega 100, July 7-9 featuring three days of the best racers in America converging on the Tyler County Speedway for their share of the over $120k purse up for grabs. Three days of complete Renegades of Dirt $4,000 to win AMRA Modified action highlights the weekend along with two night of UFo Super Late Model action. A complete pill draw weekend will make the Mega 100 a race fans dream weekend.

The ‘Bullring’ will take a needed racing vacation on Saturday Night, July 16th as we prepare for the 2016 stretch run. Back in action on July 23rd, we welcome Simonton Windows Night back at the Tyler County Speedway and the weekend warriors of the Edge Hotmods take center stage with the running of the $2k Workin’ Mans’ World Championship. The month of July closes out on Saturday, July 30th as we kick off the traditional Tyler County Fair with the AMRA/STARS Bud Weigle Memorial for Super Lates featuring trophies in all classes.

The 12th Annual Dickson Classic $1200 to win AMRA Modified Invitational will take to the high banks on Saturday Night, August 13th. A special ‘Friday Night Lights’ edition of racing action will kick off the 2016 high school football season at the Tyler County Speedway on Friday Night, August 19th. The 2016 Season Championship will bring the curtain down on the 2016 season as we crown champions in all classes. Plus don’t miss the $5k Sunoco Winners Shootout to close out the season as we invite all 2016 Super Late Model winners back for the winner take all ‘Shootout’.
