(Middlebourne, WV) EDGE Entertainment, Inc. released last June plans to reboot the Short Track Auto Racing Series most commonly known as STARS and will continue with that plan as racing begins this spring in the Ohio Valley. Plans were tentatively set for a June speed week that would allow for the series to work with other touring bodies to provide a schedule the saw no conflicts in the region. However, with the vast number of area Late Model specials and growing touring associations the STARS series will revamp its original plans to provide a year long regional alliance instead of a jammed pack June as originally intended.

Additionally, EDGE Entertainment desired to work closely with the weekly sanction (AMRA) American Motor Racing Association, amid the entities recent partnership this off season. EDGE Entertainment announced in December that it’s flagship Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour would fall under the AMRA banner also. After successful partnership EDGE is once again aligning itself with the East’s leading sanction for the Late Model division as well.

The STARS series will shift it’s focus and now be dubbed the AMRA STARS Late Model Alliance while continuing to carry out the outstanding legacy of the Short Track Auto Racing Series which began in the early 1980’s. The AMRA STARS Late Models will showcase races within the regional footprint of the AMRA whom are AMRA member tracks. The regionally scaled events will boast a minimum $2,000 to win purse with events already on the schedule reaching as high as $5,000 to win. The series will act more as a promotional alliance among AMRA member tracks with each venue having the opportunity to host the weekly all-stars of the AMRA circuit as they battle for the STARS championship crown.

“This is going to work out a lot better for the AMRA race tracks and the AMRA drivers. To have the STARS name and combine that with the AMRA and their weekly points championship is a win win. Racers won’t have to travel weekly with this deal but it does allow them an avenue to gain regional exposure for good money while earning the tremendous title of STARS champion” stated, Cody Watson.

Furthermore, officials for the AMRA STARS Late Models are excited to announce it’s preliminary schedule for 2016 with a some more dates at a variety of AMRA tracks still to be announced prior to the start of the season. With each completed event on the STARS circuit racers will be awarded $400 towards the year end championship fund. Any sponsorship dollars earned will also be added to the year end point fund. The following split will divide the point monies to be awarded at the AMRA banquet, 1) 25% / 2) 20% / 3) 15% / 4) 12% / 5) 10% / 6) 8% / 7) 6% / 8) 4%.
