Conneaut, OH (June 30, 2015): Raceway 7 will usher in the 239th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence on July 3rd with a giant fireworks display by Gibson of Titusville, known for their pyrotechnics displays that are second to none. The display will take place during the intermission in the regular 5-Star show scheduled including the Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models, Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods, Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks, Bonnell Auto Sales Economods, and Specialty Products Mini Stocks.

Of the nine events scheduled for the first half of the season, only one date has been lost to rain. With nine race dates yet to be run points chases are heating up with 24 divers visiting the Winner’s Circle over the five divisions. Two classes (Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models and the Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks) show clear domination by Chad Wright and Shaun Fawcett, and one class (Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods) is setting up for a tight battle to the finish between the three leaders, Percy McDonald, Brent Rhebergen, and Ken Zimmer.

With eight feature events of the 2015 season run, 2013 champion Chad Wright has dominated, winning four of them, and leading the points by a comfortable 40-point margin over 2009 champion Dennis Lunger, who has two feature wins this season. Defending champion Kyle Zimmerman rides third in his quest to repeat, 91-points behind Wright. Bob Pifer and Billy Henry won the other features this season.

Former champion Joel Watson finally won his first Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods feature of the season but is mired back in fifth spot and trails leader Percy McDonald, twice a winner this season and the 2009 champion, by 95 markers. McDonald holds a slim seven point margin over single winner Brent Rhebergen with two-time winner Ken Zimmer third, only twenty points behind the leader. Chuck Steinle Jr is fourth, 77-points behind McDonald. Justin Carlson and Brandon Blackshear have the feature other wins this season.

Shaun Fawcett is having a ‘career year’, winning three Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks features this season, including last week with a dominating performance. Fawcett enjoys a 60-point advantage over Chris Withers, a former class champion who has not yet visited Victory Lane this season. Brandon Groters also a three-time winner in 2015, is another three points in arrears of Withers after experiencing mechanical ails last week and not finishing the feature. Other winners have been Rusty Martz in a special Penn Ohio Prostock event, and former champion Ed Bolyard.

Former E-Mod and Street Stock champion Rick Prosser only has one win this season but consistently ‘up-front’ finishes allows Prosser to lead the Bonnell Auto Sales Economods points race over defending champion Josh Ferry by 53-points. Although Ferry has three wins, including the first two weeks and last week, he has been plagued with mechanical problems, denying him valuable points in his battle to repeat the championship. Russ Kapalin has failed to win a feature but is always lurking nearing the front and is third in the standings, 79 points out of the lead. Other winners include Jace Ferringer, with two wins, and Brad Blackshear and Steve Haefke, with single wins.

2013 Specialty Products Mini Stocks champion Brad Cole leads the standings over 2012 champion Bud Sergeff. Cole has one win while Sergeff has visited Victory Lane three times, all in a row! Cole enjoys a 34-point edge at the halfway point of the season. Defending champion Dale Fraschetti, with two feature wins, is currently third another 16-points back. Hoyt Mihalak and Casey Harmon have the other two wins this season.
