Tyler County Speedway Releases 2015 Schedule

(Middlebourne, WV) With a standout 40th Anniversary Season in the rear view mirror, a season in which Tyler County Speedway averaged over 120 race cars weekly with fans witnessing some of the finest racing in the region, all systems are set on go for an outstanding 2015 season. Final congratulations and awards were recently handed out at the 2014 Speedway Banquet, with racing legends Butch McGill claiming his record 10th Super Late Model track championships and Bird Wilson notching his 8th, to up and coming standouts such as Kyle Thomas, Chad Smith, Mitch Ward, Donnie Wamsley and Brady Reed also earning well deserved hardware, anticipation is at an all-time high towards the ‘Bullrings’ 41st Season.

With the Hometown Racing Association entering its third season at the helm of one of America’s raciest venues, more prominently known as the ‘Bullring’ fans are in for a treat as the 15′ season will once again be among one of the more aggressive and fan friendly schedules in motorsports.

Eager racers will get their first laps on the high banked ‘Bullring’ as the Annual Test N’ Tune will welcome back all on Saturday, March 28th with an evening open practice from 5-9pm. With the 2015 campaign officially taking Flagman Todd Gorrell’s green flag on Saturday Night, April 4th for the highly anticipated lid-lifter.

The ever popular 21st Annual Topless 50 will roll off with its traditional first Saturday in May slot. Race fans are still buzzing about Sonny Conley’s performance of a year ago with the event being voted OVDTR’s Super Late Model race of the year.

Tyler County Speedway will play host to two multi-day weekends with the traditional Memorial Weekend May 22-24 Jackpot 100 visit by the World of Outlaw Late Models featuring two complete shows, an $8,000 and $10,000 to win events plus the ever growing Renegades of Dirt $5,555 to win Let it Ride 55 modified major event. Also kicking off the first big camping weekend of the summer will be an open practice on Friday afternoon with rising Nashville star Craig Wayne Boyd, the Season 7 winner of the Voice headlining Friday Nights live entertainment.

A new event we hope to make a tradition at Tyler County Speedway will see the first Mega 100 roll off on July 9-11 featuring a record setting purse for the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour that will see $12,000 paid to the winner, with $1,200 to start, among the $80,000 purse. Plus Twin $5,000 to win UFo Super Late Model shows plus increased purses in all divisions will make for a fun filled mid-summer event.

The Hometown Racing Association are also pleased to be able to showcase for the 1st time at the Middlebourne, WV oval the highly anticipated BOSS non wing sprints on Saturday Night, June 20th. This will be the first non-wing sprint show in WV in some 50 years! Also returning to the ‘Bullring’ after a few year absence will be Pennsylvania’s BRP Big Block Modified Tour on Thursday Night, July 2nd as we kick off the Independence Weekend with a must see event.

A couple of cool things we are looking forward to is once again offering the best fans in motorsports a 100% FREE night at the speedway featuring some of the best racing in the region. After last seasons record crowd our 2nd Annual “Pack the Track” event will take place on Saturday Night, June 6th. Another first for the ‘Bullring’ will be on Saturday, July 4th as the speedway will host a Night of Destruction featuring a night of Fireworks, Demo Derby and a can’t miss Figure 8 Race of Destruction by Thomas Motorsports.

The Tyler County Speedway is proud to be the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tours hometrack and will feature the best open wheel racers in the country on four occasions. The first visit by the open wheel Renegades will be the official 2015 Northeast Season Opener as part of “Friday Night Lights” on April 17th. The second stop being the massive $5,555 to win “Let it Ride 55” as part of the “Jackpot 100” weekend May 22-24 that will see the mod stars compete in three features over the Memorial Weekend spectacular. Stop #3 for the Renegades will be the premier Modified event on the East Coast with the $12,000 to win Mega 100 July 9-11. With the fourth and final stop for the Renegades being the 11th edition of the “Dickson Classic” as part of the popular Ohio River Shootout on Sunday Night, August 2nd.

Traditional staples and fan favorite events honoring some of our ‘Bullring’ legends return such as the Pat Herrick Memorial for Modlites, Tammy Clegg Tribute and Workin’ Man World Championship for Hotmods, plus a couple visits by the FASTRAK NE Tour and Eaton/Childers King of the Ring for the FASTRAK guys. With the speedway’s oldest event going unsanctioned once again as we pay homage to the legendary Earl Hill during the $10,000 to win 27th Annual Earl Hill Memorial as we close the season at the ‘Bullring’ in grand fashion on September 19th.
