Conneaut, OH (July 25, 2014): Raceway 7’s Crate Late Models had an unsanctioned $1000 to win 25-lap feature with Kyle Zimmerman picking up the lion’s share of the glory after leading the entire distance for his first win of 2014.

Rick Prosser drove to his second Zimmer Service Center Economods feature win of 2014 after taking the lead at lap four. Defending champion Joel Watson got by Mike Potosky with only two laps remaining to win his third feature of the season in the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods finale. Defending champion Chris Withers led every lap enroute to his fifth win of the season. Dale Fraschetti led a wild Specialty Products Mini Stock feature that ended with the field scrambling to avoid a last turn pileup involving the second and third place runners.

The Zimmer Service Center Economods feature started with veterans Russ Kapalin and Rick Prosser on the front row for their fifteen lap feature. Kapalin led lap one with Prosser alongside. In turn one of lap four Kapalin spun in turn two eventually involving five cars including points leader Steve Burns and last week’s winner Brandon Blackshear. Burns retired to the pit but Blackshear continued. Prosser led the field back to green with Jace Ferringer now second and Josh Ferry third. Ferringer spun off turn four at lap eight again bunching the field with Ferry now second and Kapalin back up to third after restarting last at lap four. On the first lap after green Ferry got into Kapalin at turn three with Kapalin spinning and Ferry going to the rear for rough driving. Prosser went on to the win, his second of the season, with Reinwald second, Ferry back up to third, the rookie Devin Henry fourth and Jodi Woodworth fifth.

Mike Potosky and point’s leader Gary Eicher led the Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods to the green with Potosky showing the way for the first several laps and Joel Watson making his way forward from his eighth starting spot to third by lap four. After a lap eight restart Potosky, Eicher, and Watson raced three-wide down the back straight with Watson gaining second but Potosky maintaining the lead. With five to go Potosky had a two car length lead at the flag over Watson with Watson diving to the inside in turn three but unable to complete the pass. Watson again got under the leader in turn one at lap eighteen and getting by in turn two when Potosky slipped wide. Watson got his third win of the year with Potosky maintaining second after a last lap charge by Eicher who settled for third. Eric Reinwald was fourth at the checkers with Scott Stiffler fifth.

The Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models were racing for $1000 to win. Kyle Zimmerman, always in the hunt but not winning a feature this season was on the pole with Dave Airgood, looking for his second win of the season, on the outside front row. Zimmerman opened a half-straight lead by lap six when the caution flew, eradicating his advantage. Matt Latta came to second at lap just as caution again flew. Zimmerman slowly pulled away from Latta and Airgood after green with points leader Chad Wright fourth and Dennis Lunger fifth. A caution at lap eighteen closed the gap again. Lunger got by Wright for fourth with five laps to go and by Airgood at the white flag. At the stripe it was Zimmerman with the big paycheck over Latta, Lunger, Airgood, and Wright.

Defending champion Chris Withers started from the pole and led every lap of the Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks feature for his fifth win of the season, strengthening his bid to repeat as champion. Four cars piled up in turn two at five laps completed, eliminating Withers already big lead when yellow was shown. Art Gilchrist suffered heavy damage and was eliminated from the event and Kyle Reinwald went to the pit for quick repairs, rejoining the chase laps down. For the restart Withers again led the way with Mark Frontera replacing Mike Harmon in second and Jimmy Kennerknecht coming to third. Kennerknecht came to second at the green and started chasing down Withers but to no avail. At the stripe it was Withers, Kennerknecht, Frontera, Bolyard, and last week’s winner Ron Boardman. Withers was presented with an extra $100 for his win courtesy of Niemeyer’s Garage in Wattsburg, PA.

Mary Hammond and point’s leader Dale Fraschetti led the Specialty Products Mini Stocks to the green with Fraschetti grabbing the immediate lead with four abreast racing for second on the back straight with Hammond winding up sideways at the end of the straight and collecting Hoyt Mihalak, setting up a complete restart. Fraschetti and Dylan Goodman led Brad Cole for the resumption of the race. At halfway Fraschetti, Goodman, and Cole were all fighting for the lead with Cole gaining the lead on lap ten but unable to hold it. With one to go Fraschetti was solidly ahead with Cole second and Goodman third. Coming through turns three and four for the checkers Goodman came back by Cole on the low side then slid back up the track into Cole with Goodman slamming the retaining wall in turn four. In the scramble to get to the checkers Mitch Stokes wound up second with Cole coming across third, Bud Sergeff fourth, and Jason Easler fifth.
