Conneaut, OH (July 22, 2014): The Evergreen Lake Park Campground Crate Late Models, the premier class at Raceway 7, will be featured this Friday night as they race for $1000 to win. With the season now past the halfway point every race will hold extra importance for all competitors. Chad Wright, with three wins in 2014, looks to be on the way to his second points title in his young career with a 61-point edge over Matt Latta, a winner twice this season. Third with six scheduled nights remaining is Kyle Zimmerman, not yet a winner this season, but consistently near the front of the pack. Zimmerman trails Latta by 42-points and holds a 16-point advantage over Darrell Bossard, who picked up his first Crate Late Model win May 30. Former champion Dennis Lunger, with three wins, is fifth, another 44-points back of Bossard. All five will be in the hunt for the added purse.

Gary Eicher has an impressive 78-point edge over defending champion Joel Watson in Bonnell Collision Center E-Mods points. Watson, a four-time champion including the past three in a row, has two wins this season and failed to appear for one night of racing, putting him at a disadvantage to Eicher, with two wins and nine top fives in ten weeks of racing. Percy McDonald, the 2009 champion and two time winner this season including last week, is third, another 49 points back of Watson. McDonald’s brother, Dan, without a win this year, is fourth, another 21 points back. Yet another 100 points back in fifth is Dan McDonald’s son, Josh, who picked up his first feature win May 23.

Last Friday night saw a first time winner in the Campbell’s Mini-Storage Street Stocks feature as Ron Boardman got his first-ever win. The title race for the division is close as defending champion Chris Withers holds a 27-point lead over Ed Bolyard. Each of the top two have been to Victory Lane three times this season in regular racing and each have been top five runners every week. Withers also won a non-points special June 13. Only 35 points behind Bolyard is Jimmy Kennerknecht, always close to the front but who hasn’t yet broke into the Winner’s Circle. Also winless this season is Ken Lamp, another 58 points back in fourth and Shaun Fawcett, who picked up his lone win of the summer on June 27, 94 points behind Lamp.

Steve Burns holds a 41-point edge over Josh Ferry in the Zimmer Service Center Economods championship chase. Each driver now has three wins with the biggest problem for Ferry being June 3, when major mechanical problems prevented him from starting the feature. Brandon Blackshear, champion in 2012 and winner last week, is currently third, 30 points behind Ferry. The veteran Rick Prosser, a former champion in both Street Stocks and E-Mods in the 1990s, is fourth, another 59 points back and only four markers ahead of Russ Kapalin. Blackshear has two wins this season, Prosser one victory, and Kapalin is still looking for his first trip to the Winner’s Circle.

Twenty-three points separate second running Bud Sergeff from the lead in the Specialty Products Mini Stocks championship race. Dale Fraschetti, with three wins this season, leads the standings over Sergeff, a two time winner this summer and the 2012 champion. Jason Easler, not yet a winner this year, is third 44-points back and holding a 27-point edge over Carlos Aponte. Aponte, the 2009 champion, has three wins this season. Fifth is Brad Cole, the defending champion, twenty behind Aponte. Cole got his second win of the season last Friday.
