Green Wins Night #2 Of DRC.net Double Shot At MRP

In the first ever “Party in the Park Event” at Moler Raceway Park it was Brandon Green in his Turner Motorsports Machine taking the checkered flag at the end of the 25 lap feature event. By virtue of his win in the second heat and the Diamond Cut Lawn Care Dash event Green started on the pole and at the green he rocketed to lead and never looked back as he took the win. Adam Stricker had a great battle with Josh Rice for second spot while Dave McWilliams and Jimmy Lennex Jr.

In the Diamond Cut Lawn Care Sport Mods it was Andy Trout claiming his second feature win and becoming the first repeat winner in the division. The Seip’s Auto Parts, A&J Liquid Graphics sponsored machine would lead the entire feature event. Jerry Florence Jr and Steve Cruse would round out the top three positions.

The Chevette Division would have a fantastic race and a new winner. At the drop of the green flag it was previous night’s winner Jeff Watson out front but Mike Clark would work passed him on lap 3 only to see defending track champion Rusty Yarger take the top spot on lap 9 but Clark would battle back and retake the lead and claim his first ever feature win at MRP in his Clark Excavating machine. Yarger would come home second with Watson, Kyle Tarvin and Jim Hunt completing the top five spots. Clark and Watson won heat races.

In a rare visit of the Pure Stock division it was a great side-by-side battle as Tim Brearton and Charles Bowman would race for the final ten laps with the winner in doubt. Finally on the final lap it was Bowman in his JT Express, Jesse’s Crane Service, Wholesale Carpet Outlet sponsored machine taking the win. Brearton would come home second with Joe Hurt, Jeff Dressman, and Steve Carpenter completing the top five spots. Brearton would win the heat race.

In the final event of the night it was the Crazy Compacts in action with $600 awaiting the winner. At the green it was Bubba Gibson out front seeking yet another win but TJ Dalton was having none of it as the Burlington,Ky driver in his TJ’s Mobile Computer Services, Kadak Survival, Dirtstar Photos sponsored machine would take his first win of the season. Gibson would come home second with Dillon Harris, Michael Hensley, and Willie Butler completing the top five. Gibson and Dalton won heat races.

Following the racing program it was the WBW wrestling putting a full size ring behind the grandstand and a full wrestling program for all to see while following the wrestling it was the band Livid performing to round out the party in the park program.
