Kyle Strickler swept the Renegades weekend

(Middlebourne, WV) Dominance, the only word to describe the weekend for Renegade of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts current point leader and touring regular, Kyle Strickler of Mooresville, NC. Simply summed up… the following press release should read eerily similar to last nights. For the second straight night of the weekend double header ‘The High Side Tickler’ worked his magic quickly jumping to the lead before setting sail in his Beak Built Chassis #8s in lapping eight cars and building up a full five second lead on the runner up Rich Michael Jr. However, behind Kyle the racing again this evening was worth every penny spent either through the gate or via the XSAN PPV camera’s. Two and three wide throughout the racing surface was once again the norm on the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts last evening at the Hilltop Speedway, the tours fourth points stop in 2014 which boasted another stellar field of thirty entries on hand.

When action got underway it was Kyle Strickler who would again lead his group in also taking the events overall fast time with a 16.954 around the 3/8′s mile Millersburg, OH dirt oval. Last week’s regular night feature winner at the speedway, Jesse Wisecarver would lead group #2 qualifying with a time of 17.153.
After the thirty Renegade of Dirt Modified Tour presented by Arizona Sport Shirts entries took time is was four preliminary heat races set to get underway. In the Slicker Graphics Heat Race #1 a battle ensued between Tanner Wilson and Kyle Strickler in which the pair ran side by side for the lead with Strickler working hard to get around Wilson but to no avail. On the final lap it was last seasons Renegade of Dirt Rookie of the Year, Wilson who took the checkered by just .272 seconds. DirtCast.com Heat Race #2 was one for the ages with Travis Dickson and Rich Michael going side by side for the lead throughout. Michael continued to work the top and bottom applying heavy pressure to Dickson who would hold the point for seven and three/quarters laps until Rich Michael of Ischua, NY got a major run out of four on the high side to narrowly edge Travis at the line by just .191 seconds.
Furthermore, ModFury.com Heat Race #3 was lead to the green by Mineral Wells, WV and long time veteran of the sport Kenny Johnson. Johnson took the lead immediately and cruised to a convincing heat win with Derrick Ramey and Wisecarver in tow for the remaining transfer positions. In Karsyns Krusaders Heat Race #4 Anthony Kinkade making his first appearance with the tour in 2014 took the point early with Loney and Morehouse working hard for spots two and three. The duo continued to race side by side allowing Kinkade to stretch his lead as Morehouse made his move getting around Loney for 2nd to round out the final heat race of the evening.
The model of consistency, Mark Dickson grabbed the top spot in B-Main #1 as the action for the final transfer between Josh Morrow, Robbie Evans, and Patrick Lyon unfolded in the rear view, each finishing 2-4 respectively. Furthermore, in B-Main #2 ‘The Cowboy’ Cody Parker jumped out the early advantage and later took the win transferring the ROY contender into his first touring A-Main in 2014. Accepting the evenings Renegade of Dirt high points provisionals were Ryan Ayers and Patrick Lyons.
When the 30 lap Arizona Sport Shirts ‘A-Main’ rolled onto the speedway it was Rich Michael and Kenny Johnson who would lead the who’s who of dirt lineups to the green flag once more. As the field entered into turn one and two it was Kyle Strickler who quickly went to work grabbing a spot inside the top three as he began to work his way forward. Meanwhile the field continued to run side by side jockeying for position while just one caution slowed the evenings A-Main action. In yet another very impressive display of speed, Strickler would again begin to distance himself from the rest of the field as we went half way down in the main event. Navigating his way through thick lap traffic ‘The High Side Tickler’ surgically carved his way through the pack while building up a five second lead when for the third straight time Strickler crossed the checkered flag in the highest paying position. The win marks the Mooresville natives forth straight RoDT win including his third straight in 2014 and his 7th victory so far this season in six different states. Piloting a Beak Built by HighSide Chassis, TomCat, JRI Shocks sponsored winning machine to the win Strickler widens the point gab between him and Rich Michael Jr who for the second straight night had a birds eye view of Strickler’s winning performance. They were followed to the line by Anthony Kinkade, Kenny Johnson, Tanner Wilson, Derrick Ramey, Travis Dickson, Chris Basich, Kevin Morehouse, and Jesse Wisecarver rounding out the top 10.
“We have this thing figured out. It’s been so many hours in the garage working to get improve our program and get better that’s finally paying off for us this year” stated an excited Strickler. “This thing will go were ever we want it to on the track and work well. It feels amazing to sweep a Renegade of Dirt weekend, any win with them is a huge accomplishment so two in one weekend is a great feeling” concluded Strickler.

“We’re close” stated Rich Michael after the feature. “We have a race car that is right there but we have to get it better if we are going to start giving Kyle a challenge for the lead once he gets out in front” added RMJ. “We want to thank our sponsors and we are excited to get back to Tyler County in a few weeks for the ‘Let It Ride 55′” concluded Michael.
